See the New Yorker article. You’d be with an ashtray among other things. There is a good Atlantic piece on him in the context of sleazy influence peddling and how much we have normed To it.

Indulged by his dad.

This impeachment news will hurt Biden because in no world does it look good for him.

Warren is happy.

You all do know that his mother and baby sister were killed in a car wreck, and he was in the car and almost killed himself. He was a toddler. They were Christmas shopping and were hit by a tractor trailer. Then his older brother died in the prime of his life from brain cancer. So, is he a hot sloppy mess of a human? Yes. Did his father indulge him? Yes, probably out of guilt and sorrow for all his suffering. Do I think he broke the law? No. Does is matter in the context of whether or not the President should be impeached? Not one iota. Move on.

So. Much. Feels.
Now he’s a crook like his dad!
What else ya got? Did his dog die?
He’s a criminal. And now Ukraine I going to help root out the corruption of the—surprise!—Obama administration.
Didn’t see that coming did ya?

Go back to sleep, Jan.

OP, thank you for sharing, very interesting read. I never liked Hunter from what I've seen and heard, but this article provides a lot of background and explanation for his actions. It is a sad family story for Joe and makes me think why in the world he deserved all this: death of his wife, death of his son, and a drug addict son? What did Joe did that we don't know about?

Hunter is. a spoil brat, there is no question. He is not a great lawyer, and sadly, a very bad businessman. The fact that he stays super quiet during all this Ukraine story tells a lot. I love Joe Biden, but. honestly, I think the best thing for him would be to withdraw from campaign to save his name and legacy. He can peacefully retire now without brining up all the family dirt that will stick to him forever.

What does Hunter saying ‘super quiet’ tell us?

I'm not sure I follow. Hunter is no good so therefore Joe should withdraw...? You skipped quite a few steps there, Skippy.

Give it up, OP. Burnishing the family name is not a reason to run, or decide not to run, for president. Maybe it is for Trump, but we've seen how much of a disaster and traitor he's been, with his spilling national security secrets to countries that would like to wipe us out.

If he has done nothing wrong while he was on BOD at Burisma, would you think that after numerous accusation he would step out and explain at least in one interview what was he doing there and that everything he was doing is legitimate? I find it interesting that he have not given one single interview so far. He doesn't have to explain anything at all. I personally thing it would help his dad's campaign if Hunter, not other investigative journalists, would come out and explain his employment with Ukrainian company.

Joe has a good legacy (maybe not great, but not tarnished). Making public all the information about his family is going to hurt him. Not that it was unknown, but most of the things about his family was known locally, within DC/McLean.

Nope. Keeping quiet is best for him and his dad.

This will blow over, since there's nothing there.

I agree that the family issues should have no effect on the person's decision weather to run for the office or not. However, the fact that Biden raise a child who is a total failure speaks a ton about who Biden is.

Thoughts? I'm more interested in what registered dems and independents think than republicans (and especially conspiracy theorists)

This Independent thinks that these days it's Dems who excel at conspiracy theories, and that Biden is done -- but mainly because of his own behavior.

The Hunter obvious conflict of interest is just a little cherry on the cake.

Where did that come from?

He hasn't killed anyone, he's already doing better than plenty of politician's family members.
