Alex Morgan says youth soccer has gotten worse

+1000. Yup, “Change is the only constant.”

Businness and companies have to constantly adapt or be ahead of the ever changing environment. Companies that don’t change (ie Blockbusters), die. The same holds true for people. What was accepted yesteryear is not accepted now and what is accepted now was not accepted yesteryear. As parents, we are responsible for preparing our respective kids to this ever changing social, academic, sports and/or education environment.

Case in point: Common Core. I did not learn this in school 30 years ago. But I had to learn it so I can review my DD’s homework. I hate it, it’s dumb but I had no choice other than to learn it.

This is just an idiotic argument that speaks nothing to spending thousands of dollars on a simple sport (cleats and a ball) and ridiculous amounts of travel. Equating learning common core in a free public school to a sport now a huge business requiring thousands of dollars and huge amounts of travel is not analogous. Some of these posters speak to the decline in education/critical thinking even with more homework and parents paying for tutors and prep courses.

Wrong. Alex Morgan hasn't played youth soccer in 12 years and has no kids and has not coached youth soccer. Most parent here know more about youth soccer than her. Plus she's a binge drinker (do a little googling on her), so not sure we need to care what her thoughts are. But, she it hot, so she has that going for her.

Many of the best soccer players were binge drinkers: George Best, Maradona, Jimmy Greaves, Garrincha, Paul Gasgoigne, Rooney (still is- arrested recently at DCA), but you are an idiot to think she doesn’t know about youth soccer today.

Who’s the clown trying to dictate what we need to care about?

Ha. Rooney was a good player. Now he plays in MLS. Enough said. And no, she’s an idiot as are you.
