Duke Ellington

Agreed. Also the argument I've heard one parent make is that the kids are at the school at all times of the day and night and that it's safer for them to be in Georgetown when they're staying after school at night.

And forgive me if I'm skeptical of white middle class parents acting like they're sooooo concerned about whether the Ellington students have to travel long distances to get there. Yeah, sure.

And how to the kids get home then? Bus service in “Georgetown” (Burleith) sucks at night.

Ultimately DC has to be responsive to the community. And the Northewest community needs another high school.

Glad to hear you're worried about the kids getting home. I'm sure that's why you brought this up.

Also just to add, the 30s buses run down Wisconsin until 3am. I'm sure that high school kids are capable of reading a watch and the WMATA ride guide and putting it all together.

Rumor is that the feds have been looking into the contracts and payments for the Duke Ellington construction. If so, and if folks end up going to jail, Ellington could be in for a rocky ride.

The corruption around DE has been nothing but brazen -- some accountability would be great news.

Good idea. Speaking of brazen corruption, Jack Evans needs some accountability.

You have said this for literally 4 years. Your sources are likely wrong.

Even if so that has nothing to do with Duke Ellington the school. The city owns, funded and built it.

Not so easy cowboy.

It's all about DE the school, since it has a unique operational structure.

We know from the residency fraud scandal that the Ellington administration is flagrantly incompetent, corrupt or both.

Yes, he definitely does.

But your attempt at deflection from Ellington’s mess is below Little League.
