| Another vote for kindergarten teachers or really any elementary school teacher being the most attractive job for women. Must be the nurturing that attracts men |

DH here.
DCUM is this weird land that doesnt mirror reality. Let’s be real. No guy I know prefers teachers. Guys prefer good looking women period. Career is a distant thought. Better looking lawyer beats worse looking teacher. I’m not dealing with a 4 if I can land an 8. I don’t care how sweet the 4 is with kids and how flexible her work hours are. GTFOH. But unless you’re making ridiculous bank, female lawyers are mostly out of your league. Women are not relaxed about wanting to marry up or roughly equal to their socioeconomic and educational status. Out here in the real world, most guys are making just over 100k or way less. Not 350K or whatever is the fake norm on this site. So, most guys will end up marrying the teacher because they never had a chance at the lawyer. The teacher isn’t out of anyone’s league. Guys aren’t going to tell you they didn’t make enough to believe they could keep the lawyer though. That’s embarassing. Hence all this dribble I keep reading about how women in certain low-pay jobs are so much better. I lucked out. My wife is a good looking doctor. Demanding as hell. Tough. But still hot after two kids. And she’s still working. But most importantly, still hot. All my coworkers and friends with nicer, but uglier wives are jealous of me. Because she might be a bitch sometimes, but she’s a red hot bitch. Their wives have gained or were never all that hot. |

^ that post was written by the doctor wife pretending to be her husband
People (including me) are voting for kindergarten teachers for a handful of reasons - it takes a sweet and nurturing personality to do that job - teaching is a respectable profession that requires a good education.. people won't assume your wife is dumb or "low class" like they might if she were in a very low skill job. also there is a good chance that she is smart enough to be fun to be around and talk with (again vs someone in those other jobs) - she can bring in some money to the family but will also have a flexible schedule in the summers to help out with the family responsibilities - you can teach kindergarten anywhere so the family can follow the career of the husband in terms of where they live and avoid a situation where the husband is asked to quit a job or move for her career and all the conflict and resentment that comes with this Bonus point: - big law lawyers are bitchy and snobby. Don't want to have to "keep up with the Joneses" with that social circle either |
DH here. More DCUM mythology. You women need to stop listening to other women on what men want. Pick a guy off the street and ask him if he’ll take a “nurturing” 4 over a kinda bitchy, but hot 8. Go ahead and ask. You’re all trying to avoid the simple truth: Looks win. And if I can work less because the hottie brings her own money, I’ll take it. In a way, this makes your life easier because it means you have one task to land that rich man: Look good. Eat well, exercise, dress well. You can get away with a lot if you turn heads. He’ll hire a nice nanny, if you’re not “nurturing.” I |
| I wrote the quoted post. Of course this whole thread is under the premise of all things being equal in terms of looks |
| Also, hot women who think they can get away with being bitchy are the absolute worst. Men date them but don't marry them. |
DH here. But let’s face it: Things aren’t equal in terms of looks. The teachers aren’t as well dressed as the high-power, 20- and 30-something lawyers. Their hair isn’t as nice and neither is their makeup. This is why these girl chats you women have on here miss the point. The biggest problem highly educated women have is that they’re priced out of the market. Because they’re making 200k or above and they all still want a man making more. Men aren’t rejecting them because we’re put off by their degrees or afraid they won’t nurture our kids or are so captivated by sweet teachers, lmao. There are a lot of stressed out, broke, bitchy teachers with chewed up fingernails and birkenstocks out there. I don’t know where the f you women are finding these stunning kindergarten teachers. Men avoid women who earn more because it sucks not to meet a woman’s standards and have her berate and resent you about it the rest of your life. That cuts deep. Insults about earning power are like saying your ex was better in bed. If female lawyers, doctors, professors, whatever weren’t so vicious about their earning requirements of men, the teachers couldn’t compete. Because, speaking as a man with eyes, teachers aren’t better looking on average. |

You keep calling yourself DH but I would be $1000 you are a woman lawyer
Once I read this "The teachers aren’t as well dressed"..I knew you were a woman and not a man and quit reading your response |
DH here. I’ve been married too long to let you suck me into this. Women always do this. When you make a point they don’t like, they try to fight you on some made-up bullshit. Go ahead and call me a woman. Your angry sisters who are going to accuse me of fat shaming because I said looks matter are right behind you. |
I'm guessing that the person he was replying to with the list, who mentioned the teacher being low class or not, is a woman. |
|
I'm the man who are responding to
Of course looks matter and of course it's not healthy or attractive to be fat. But looks in my mind is having a pretty face and a nice body, not expensive lawyer outfits The sweet personality of a kindergarten teacher will win over the high end clothing of a lawyer, especially since you admit it comes with bitchiness I read the rest of your post and there are some good points, but they seem to back up the kindergarten teacher over the high earner. Many men do not want to deal with the stuff you mentioned in your last paragraph So now you're agreeing there are lots of reasons to not want to marry a high maintenance high earning lawyer? |
No, it wasn't. That was me. What gave you that idea? I do find it fun to try to guess who is faking their gender in these threads though |

First of all, you’re not a woman, not a man. Second of all, I thought you said I’m a woman posing online? But now, you want more of my input? Makes no sense. Yup. You’re a woman. |
| I put "low class" in quotations because it's a stereotypical DCUM term |
