16 year old in hotel alone?

I think the logistical nightmare of this situation alone is enough to say no. Maybe your kid is a good kid who isn't going as a way to sneak away with some guy she likes, and you'd be okay with leaving them alone at the hotel, but the idea of you driving down 4 hours just to check them in and go home seems a ridiculous amount of work on you just for her to go away for a weekend with her friend. She's old enough to understand that you can't be expected to go that far out of your way for this.
