Are you packing condoms in your kid's college stuff?

No joke. I heard this discussion from a family during our boarding school interviews. The dad was concerned and the DD was very loud about the fact that she was already on the pill...in 8th grade...

That is gross and creepy on many levels.

If your kid doesn't know they should bring condems on their own they are not ready for college. Great helicopter parenting. Thanks so much.

Why would *I* be packing anything for my kid's college stuff? They'll pack their own things, just as I did. We'll shop together for anything they need and I highly doubt DS would toss a box of condoms in the cart while we are shopping.

DD is only 13 but has very painful periods so she'll likely start of BCP in a few years. I've used a Mirena for 13 yrs and been very happy with it so if she wants to try that when she's 18 I would be fine with it.

You daughtervshould not be on BCO until she is mature enough to get them herself.

As someone who suffered through years of horrible periods because my mom wouldn't take me to a gynocologist when I was a teen, I think I'll follow my gynocologist's recommendation on BCP for my teen's health rather than random DCUMs.

As a certified late bloomer... lol no

Only 39% of white high school seniors have had sex and 82% were with long term partners over 6 months.

I don’t think you realize how many kids are NOT having sex. There is one group of skanks in my daughter’s private school. The rest don’t see in any rush to spread their legs for fun. They are busy with school, sports, clubs, etc..

Everyone still has this vision of Animal House. Packing condemns as a parent is awkward and not needed. They already have pressure from their own friends. Now mom is encouraging him to get laid? Weird and icky.

Incorrect.
Kids as young as 12 start for severe cramps and/or bleeding, PCOS, diabetes, irregular periods, cancer, endometriosis, acne, PMDD, etc..

What a narrow-minded uneducated mom you are

Yep, condoms and a few starter bottles of booze in the trunk.

Wow, referring to teen girls (not boys, I note) as skanks. You’re a woman of taste and discernment, I see.

Get your daughter an IUD.

These are so dangerous! Have you read the side-effects?

what side effects? Get her a Mirena. Bonus is, it makes most women's periods go away.

Yes. It does. Of course, that means you can get pregnant on a Mirena IUD and not know you are even pregnant (despite having 2 kids) until the ectopic pregnancy ruptures your tube. Ask me how I know...
