Many, many, many liberals are of the #FreeMelania camp. We just hate her husband. We think it must be awful to be married to him and have to carry on during the porn star payments scandal. I put HRC circa 1998 and Melania in the same camp— people I admire for making the best of a very bad, personally humiliating situation. Some liberals attack Melania as a collaborator. I don’t, because I don’t think people should attack Hillary for not leaving Bill while he was POTUS. Hypocrisy is bad and all that. I do think it’s a problem when FLOTUS just disappears. The White House should issue a status update and a photo. Or Trump should tweet about how her recovery is going nicely, and she appreciates the public’s respect for her privacy, and is excited to be back up and about on X date at X event. Or Sarah Sanders should address it from the podium (well, a press secretary with credibility should). A First Lady just dropping off the grid is weird. There are easy waspys to protect her privacy and claim the speculation. I don’t think anyone feels like she has an obligation to be out in public against medical advice. Or be Kate Middleton, waving with the perfect out fit and perfect hair and makeup 8 hours after childbirth (which is nuts). But if the WH acts like they something to hide, people will assume they do. Especially this WH. |

Melania supported birthdrism. She allowed Trump and his minions to lie about her relatively humble upbringing, supposed fluency in multiple languages and nonexistent higher education. She is an OG deplorable. |

Melania was a private citizen, not the spouse of anyone seriously running for anything during birtherism. And I think she has done the best she can with what she had once Trump became a real candidate. Whatever her sins, she has paid for them many times over. You want to be married to Trump, raising a kid in the middle of that freak show, while the country discusses your husband going raw dog on porn stars while you were postpartum? She stands by her husband sometimes. Usually as little as possible. I don’t criticize her for that. Look, I hate all the people who say that Hillary should have left Bill during I DID NOT HAVE SEX WITH THAT WOMAN . I think women get criticized if they don’t stand by their spouses and criticized if the do. So I give both Hillary and Melania the benefit of the doubt. If sh, in her role as FLOTUS, does something that is out of bounds, then I will criticize. But I haven’t. |

I don’t really give a flying fig where she is, but the WH has been super suspicious about the whole thing.
I don’t care for her. But she does seem to love her son. I can’t imagine she would leave and not take him with her. |

There was an earlier post that insinuated Barron was left behind in the White House. I highly doubt Melania would leave him with Donald...ever. The man is an incredibly worthless parent. Basically just a sperm donor. |

I don’t care what she does. But Trump should pay for the additional security costs if she’s permanently moving back to NYC.
