Sending my sister off to Andover or Exeter

She's in her friggin' late-teens, early-20s for god's sake. Were you all meticulous researchers at that age?

There's being a meticulous researcher, and there's not even knowing that these schools are high schools.

By the time someone gets to college, they should be able to Google something and ascertain the most basic facts. I don't care whether you're at Princeton or a community college.

I see your point. I just don't see how making really sure someone knows you think she's an idiot because of her lack of googling is really addressing her concern.

Perhaps not an idiot. More likely either lazy or a troll.

I'm concerned too. the lack of common sense here is disturbing. She has the rest of her life to try "living in NYC." Heck, between age 18-30 I had lived in 3 countries and 4 major US cities. What a futile thing to worry about.

+2 I believe OP but am worried about the state of higher education.

There is no way she goes to Princeton. She doesn't know proper English.

Seriously. One would hope that a Princeton grad would be able to log onto Andover's or Exeter's websites and see in about 2.5 seconds that these are high schools.

Or even better -- google "Phillips Academy Andover" and you'll see a clip from the Wikipedia page that clearly states "Phillips Academy Andover is a co-educational university-preparatory school for boarding and day students in grades 9–12, along with a post-graduate year."

OP sounds like a 14 yo just spouting random posts all day. Good stuff.

My DD went to Princeton and it is obvious OP did not.

Uhh... should I show you my acceptance letter.

Yes "sparky"...show your acceptance letter...only in your dreams!

May be better to go off to school and not have to deal with your parents divorce as much.

True, but giving up freshman status for these schools can be deadly for admissions chances.

Also, my stats are as follows

SAT: 1540
SATII: 800, 790, 770
AP: 5, 5, 5, 5, 4, 4, 4, 4
Rank: 1/500
Main ECs
-Helped create a popular app (#1 in App store for some time)
-Works at a major gaming company
-Translated supplementary legal materials for the government

Would I have a chance?

Why pretend you're at Princeton already if you're currently a senior at a public magnet school with 500 seniors?

My main takeaway here is that I am now CONFIDENTLY sending my 5 yo to private school Kindergarten.

In your first link OP Write she got into Princeton. Problematic for me as we would probably be full pay.

OP isn't pretending that. Did you read the thread?
