You can't know what the BASIS high school demographics are because they aren't released publicly.
|
Elsewhere like in the suburbs? What part of "DC Public and Public Charter Schools" are you missing? The demographics that matter are DC. |
This is a pretty great list for this small class. Some interesting choices! Hope everyone finds the right fit, with the aid they need to make it happen. Good luck to all the graduating seniors. |
IN other words, the work at BASIS is not significantly more advanced than any basic suburban high school in this area, they just have more homework, busy work and is likely poorly taught and rushed through. Exactly! In addition to everything being rushed, there is no equity in terms of accommodations and help. There are those who will receive all types of assistance from teachers and administration to get the highest grade and GPA possible while others will be dismissed. |
Topping out at Northwestern/Georgetown? Ugh.
|
Oh please 13:10.
Admit rates for class of 2022: Boston U - 22% Northwestern - 8% Barnard - 13% Georgetown - 14% US Coast Guard Academy - 21% |
That’s not true - they are listed along with all the other school demographics on the dcpcs site |
The middle school and high school demographics are combined on those pages; e.g. there are not 597 students in the high school. http://www.dcpcsb.org/school/basis-dc-pcs-high-school and http://www.dcpcsb.org/school/basis-dc-pcs-middle-school |
Sorry but that's I think maybe 1 top 50 school. That doesn't cut it for DCUM people |
I don't think they applied to college with "DCUM people" in mind. Also per US News' National University rankings Northwestern #11 Georgetown #20 Boston #37 Global Universities King's College #6 |
And BASIS wonders why it loses so many kids to Walls... |
And Walls is grateful to have so many BASIS alums in its classes. It's 14 kids. The second graduating class. Get a life. |
The graduating class is so small because BASIS ruthlessly culls all the kids it didn't want to educate in the first place. That's an indictment, not a defense. |
NP. Regardless, I'd like to know which Suburban school is 36% black, 39% white, 9% Hispanic that is so successful, better yet one that has only graduated < 20 kids. Even if there is one that exists (I'd also like to know their PARCC scores), why can't there be two nice diverse schools? Why must it be either/or, best/worse? You people are pathetic tearing apart these kids. |
How is the 2019 class doing? Just curious. I realize that more acceptances will be received in April, but by now, the class will have received some results. |
