This is a huge generalization, but in my experience, asian, jewish and upper-middle-class gentile white parents are strict about grades with their children and tend to be very involved in their education. They force their kids to study and do their homework and keep up with things like science projects, etc. People from these backgrounds tend to be obsessed with getting into prestigious schools.
Things are usually more lax in working-class white, latino and black households, when it comes to education. I don't think these parents really understand the extent of how involved and competitive the former group is when it comes to education. There is much less concern about getting into "good" schools. Virtually everyone who attends a for-profit school is from the latter background. It's a totally different world. To be fair, I think some people from the former group get carried away with competitiveness and education, but the reality is that being educated and competitive is a major asset in a capitalist society. |
What a bunch of racist, stereotypical BS! |
Well that's a rationale, data-driven response. Well done. |
It is just as rational as saying white people care about education and other groups don't. It is racist, pure and simple. I am not going sit here and call it something else.
|
I would even try to offer much of any factual arguments on affirmative action on D.C. Urban Moms. Why get in the middle of all of this white victimhood.
Honestly, I cant wait till you get your wish and admissions is based on "merit" so you can see the white percentage at colleges really fall. |
meant wouldn't even |
Who's said that? |
asians > whites > hispanics > blacks
asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks another pp said it hispanics and blacks and porr whites on average dont care about education as much as whites and asians stupid people should stop breeding you can lead a horse to a trough but you can't force it to drink billions spent and no change the achievement gap will be here forever asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks asians > whites > hispanics > blacks |
Saying it over and over I'm sure makes you feel better. But when you say stupid people should not breed, I hope you set the example. |
I prefer; " you can lead a horse to drink, but you can't make him water" |
+1 white women |
So? It says that white percentage enrollment in college is down also. Asian enrollment has risen somewhat, which has eroded the percentages of other groups. |
It's way past-time to end race based affirmative action, and in time the Supreme Court will end it. If you're going to have a preference, have it be socio-economic. The latter would obviously benefit a lot of socio-economically disadvantaged blacks and Hispanics. But please explain why the African-American, private school offspring of a Big Law partner or surgeon should get a "URM" preference in college admissions over the kid of an Asian dishwasher or of a white unemployed coal miner. Makes no sense at all. |
The best way to defeat the whole affirmative action construct in college admissions is simply to check the mixed race box. Many people have some genetic material from other racial and ethnic groups, and who's going to challenge it? Or say that you "self-identify" with another race and check that box. LOL. |
I'm sure you all are concerned about the white unemployed coal miner's children. Stop lying. You are worried about your own children getting "their slot". At least have the guts to admit it. |
