Is the Whole Foods hot bar good or gross?

true, but WF has a unique way of making all of their food extra, extra heavy, causing it to weigh more, therefore cost much more than it should at whatever their price is.

I've taken the smallest of portions , think one bite sized piece and it would still cost what a cheeseburger, fries and coke would cost at McDonalds.

It used to be better.

So true. Years ago, I was consistently able to make a WF salad for about $5. Now a salad that's mostly green foliage with a few toppings is $10-$15. What the heck?

I avoid the hot food bar, because it's mostly garbage dishes that you can tell by looking is mostly heavy sauce. Like, I can make my own macaroni and cheese. I don't need to pay $8 for a couple of spoonfuls from Whole Foods. The pasta dishes are the worst. Noodles are my comfort food, but I have to remind myself that I can make my own for about a dollar, or just go to an actual ramen restaurant if I need to pay $15 for a bowl of noodles.

I go for inspiration. I know I can make most of what' there for less money and less salt/fat.

I don't like open bars because too many people let their kids touch the food, especially gross if they have colds. Also, I have a bit of fear that is one way a crazy person could poison the food. Plus, it doesn't taste good.

Gross, bland and over-priced. However, DH and I are expert cooks and we cook dishes from scratch in various cuisines - Indian, Mexican, Italian, Thai, Chinese, Middle-Eastern and American. Our standards are high and our family is used to eating the best tasting foods.

WF is similar to the crap you get in the food court in a Mall.

I'm not an "expert cook" with "high standards" who is used to "eating the best tasting foods" and even I'm not a fan of Whole Foods.
