Is the Whole Foods hot bar good or gross?

I love their Mac n cheese! Heaviest and richest I've ever had!

I love it. Especially breakfast. I also like the quinoa salad type dishes, with interesting combinations.

There's plenty of salt in it. Go back to McDonald's

I think it's good, too, and not too much salt at all. Though to be honest I haven't been to too many in the DC area. But I've eaten at a bunch in California and I love to find a whole foods right off the highway when on road trips.

I generally mix a few hot items on top of a salad. Never bother with rice or other things that are both heavy and cheap.

It always seems like a good idea, until it's not.

I think they try to make it as inoffensive as possible for broad appeal. It just comes out as tasteless and boring.

totally gross.....the mac and cheese has the mac swimming in melted gross cheese

Eh. Nothing ever looks that good. I do enjoy their soups though

Only good very early, like when they put it out at 11 am, and only good for a few things.

Gross for late lunch or dinner.

I've been to the hot bars in

Bethesda: turkey bacon for breakfast- no thanks

Gaithersburg: green tea rice? Wtf. At least they have real bacon

Alexandria: 5 different kinds of fried rice? Really? Orange Chicken and general tso's? Get outta here!

Charlottesville: real bacon, burrito wraps, local pulled pork and brisket, collared greens... say no more!

The soups and hot bar have gotten better ingredients. Our WF replaced canola oil with olive oil here in Cville.

A wheatberry salad in particular was g*dawful at the Rockville store.

Yup. I agree about the prepared food and the cakes. I like their sushi, though.

I love Balducci's hot bar. WF is bland.
