No, boys/men are 50% of the cause, and girls/women are the other 50%.

Nope. Two women having sex results in 0 abortions. Teenage boys are the least likely people to use condoms properly and often.

Teenage boys AND girls.

50% of the responsibility lies with the girls.

If girls are equally free to choose to have sex then they are equally responsible for preventing pregnancy and STDs.

Sorry but male contraception (condom) is the only truely effective was to stop transmission of STDs. Does not matter which partner has the STD, the penis needs covering. Men are more responsible for sheathing their organ.

By yur logic that men are more responsible for putting on a condom than women are, then you must agree that women are then more repsonsible for enforcing birth control.

If so, then yes even you believe that the mother's rights supersede the unborn.

This is a bad argument. Most people recognize that extraordinary measures are acceptable if a person's life is in serious danger. For example, they may shoot someone if you believe they are putting your live in serious danger, but not if your life isn't in danger. If someone thinks you may shoot another person if your life is in serious danger, it does not mean that person thinks you can go around shooting people at other times.

No, yours is a pretty bad argument when there are people shooting shoplifters in store parking lots for stealing property that's not even the shooter's.

You get your regular 6 or 8 weeks of STD medical leave if your company provides it. You don't get 12-16 weeks.

12:44 believes her friend was forced to "quickly" return to her job after the death of her child.

Did that mother regret not aborting that child, 12:44? If there had been an abortion, then she would have to live with the torment of wondering, what if... We gave that baby a chance to live as long as possible?

Just because we can terminate a life, doesn't mean we should.

Guess what, asshat? 6 weeks isn't enough to grieve and get over it.

My friend opted to carry to term because there was another baby (twins).

Im glad she had the option to choose to carry or to abort. That's a very personal choice. Every woman has the right to choose, and that's the right approach given that every medical situation is different and every individual has their own opinion and limitations.

That's something that will actually help women and children during those hours, unlike a parade of selfish pride.

Your suggestion will not only fall on deaf ears, but actually serve to foster more vitriol because you're making it seem like irresponsible single, poor women are having abortions simply because they can't handle a baby.

Instead, suggest that the marchers pitch in and help care for the babies who would be born with genetic conditions incompatible with life. Suggest they visit the nicu while the baby is hooked up to machines for a few hours, days or weeks before passing away. Better yet, suggest they pay for the costly medical bills of months of prenatal care (for a baby who won't live) and the much costlier delivery and nicu charges (for a baby who won't live).

+100000

Maybe they can also spend their time fundraising for funeral costs of those poor babies who are incompatible with life, as well as the psychological services their parents might need after bringing a child into the world only to see her suffer and die.

What if you have to suffer and die? Should your mother have aborted you?

Not that poster, but personally, I would much prefer to have been aborted than to have been born a quadriplegic or locked in the hellish prison of low-functioning autism. Or into a household rife with child sexual abuse or torture. Or many other scenarios I can think of. I wouldn't bring a baby into the world if I lived in Syria right now.

Some people think poor or dumb folks shouldn't be allowed to reproduce.

Im not that poster but I terminated a fetus with a birth defect and would do it again. A fetus /embryo is not a baby.

Well, yeah. Those people are wrong. But their position is closer to the pro-life position, in that they want to take that choice away from those women.

I urge all pro-birther to research what happened in Romania when abortions were banned. You can start here, but there is a lot of literature out there, including academic studies:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/11/6/1033796/-

If you think making abortion illegal will stop abortions, you are kidding yourself. Women will still have them, but the difference is that they will have them in sordid conditions and die. Or they will not be successful and their children will be maimed. Or they will have the children and abuse them.

Have you, pro birthers, thought about this? And if you say adoption, I hope you are putting your money where your mouth is and adopting children yourselves. And not just white infants.

I ask this question in Lots of abortion threads, and I'm not the only one. We never get an answer.

No amount of time gets most of us "over" the death of a child, even a miscarriage.

Are you going to pay to take care of those kids when their parents can't?

Obviously not, because most of the people who call themselves "pro life" are also opposed to the food stamps and welfare that are the main things taking care of those kids.

What makes me happy is that my doctor and I can talk about health issues and quality of life. About pain and torment before death and make a judgment about the quality of life. About the pain and suffering a fetus would experience by just being born. Then my doctor and I can have access to legal options in the United States to assure that that suffering did not occur. Thats what matters to me, not prolonging torture but, thats all that matters to you-life at any cost.

+ a million

Here's the thing: the anti-abortion folks simply don't get it because tragedy hasn't affected them. But when they get horrific news during a routine sono, they quietly go off and have an abortion...and they become less vitriolic. They also change their tube when their 15 year old daughter gets pregnant.

Of course the girls are also on the hook. It's just that they have to bear 100% of the consequences of an unintended pregnancy, which is where we end up with abortions. So, back to the point -- there should be NO teenage males at the stupid March. And I hope it rains

The pro-lifers will not provide any intelligent answers to the questions about what happens to children born with serious problems, into bad situations and whether those families will receive any support after the birth.
They are good at talking the talk until the moment of birth. Good luck with whatever comes after that.
