What do you think about birthday parties at fast food restaurants? (McDonalds, Chick Fil A, etc...)

PP really? You do realize your child will not die if he eats a couple dam chicken nuggets. Jeez.

No worse than a chuck e cheese bday or bounce house place where greasy pizza and super sugary fruit punch is served.

It's a 2 hr party. Everything in moderation.

I'd be excited and use it as an excuse to secretly eat a Big Mac.

This would be how I would handle it. Its a party to show appreciation to your friend, if its at McDs or a park with paper plates you go and teach your children to be gracious.

+1 to this.

I would hate it but would go. In fact i would feel sorry for the kid whose birthday it was because i am sure all the judgey moms would decline and turnout would be low....so i might make extra sure to accept for that reason.

Bouncy house places and chuck etc cheese and laser tag places and other typical birthday party places now sell free range, organic food?!? Wow, maybe I should go to one for dinner with my husband.

It's a party. Lighten up.

Yes. Better to be judge-y and still go.

DH and I have a fairly structured parenting style and we limit sugar and screen time, eat pretty healthy etc. However we feel children should experience all of life and learn there is a lot more outside of their little home bubble. Grandparents want to give them candy and no bed time - no problem - we feel grandparents should be able to enjoy their grandchildren. Party at McDonalds? Sure! Its not about the food its about celebrating their friends birthday. Sleepover where the parent doesn't shop exclusively at farmers markets and whole foods? Whats the big deal?

I know you think you are open-minded and not at all snobby, but you really probably are quite condescending to others.

I've only been to perhaps 5 kid parties (not including the 3 I've thrown) in the last 5 years that didn't serve pizza, juice boxes, piles of fruit snacks and other candy and cake.

I'll take the 4 chicken nuggets, the tiny fries my kid won't even eat, the apple slices and the milk over that.

We've only ever turned down a kid's party due to being out of town. I'd definitely allow my kid to attend and she'd be just as thrilled about going as she is about any other party.

Well shit, we have catered 275 dollars of chik fila with the great zucchini followed up by a magic show. I guess that's cheap even though the bill totaled 1000+.

What would the entertainment be? Usually parties have activities and food is just a part of it. It sounds like in this case, the food is the centerpiece. We probably would skip. Especially for anti-choice, anti-gay chicken. It's just not worth it.

I didn't know that birthday parties at fast food restaurants were a thing. I don't think that I live under a rock, but I was never invited to any, and my children haven't been either.

Um. No. I'm not crass like that. Of course I go. Who boycotts an invitation over the venue? Wow.

Isn't pizza just a bad

Noodles and Co and a few others would be great, but he does not like McDonalds, Chick Fil A, etc. as he does not eat meat and very particular about his fries.

Aren't picky eaters the worst? You need to nip that in the bud.
