ITS. More established, permanent location.

That's a tough one, but I'd go with 2 Rivers because you have the possibility of remaining for many more years. After K (which will come sooner than you think) at Peabody, you are screwed. Or potentially screwed.

I would agree, only on the logistics side for this year, but I hear that Lee's afterschool is phenomenal. I'm also a big fan of Montessori.

We were matched with Cleveland bilingual PK3 and have a single digit waitlist number at IT. Language is important and Cleveland is much closer than IT, but we are afraid we would be crazy to turn down IT if we get in. We are in the 100s for MV which was our #1 pick. What should we do if we get into IT?

I'd also go with 2 Rivers. Peabody is great, but 1st grade will be here before you know it.

Lee! Even though they are not in their permanent location this school is amazing. Staff,Administration,Aftercare and parents are all great. The communication is wonderful and I see this school doing and going great places.

Go to Cleveland especially if commute is a factor.

If you go to IT, will you always be looking for the chance to get into an immersion school? If you go to Cleveland, will it be a problem for you that there's only one class/teacher per grade for the dual language program? How do you feel about DCPS vs. charter? Will you keep trying to jump to MV either way? If Spanish is really your top priority, I'd go with Cleveland.

The majority of people who leave IT (and the numbers are not large, but they do exist) are those who are sure that the immersion grass is greener. I don't think it is and prefer the ITS master teacher model and strong focus on classroom pedagogy. I think you've got to figure out which is more important to you.

If Language is important then I would pick Bethune over ITS. We are at ITS and while they have a Spanish teacher and go once a week it's not enough.

Before you choose Bethune for Spanish, though, I'd read the 10-year charter review report: http://www.dcpcsb.org/sites/default/files/MM%20Bethune%20Review%20Report.pdf

Regarding that report, have you read similar from the other dual language charters? I'm curious which, if any, do have a good method of determining proficiency and how are they meeting goals?
