Yes, this is part of why we don't have a telework option - there is no way to deal effectively w/ those who abuse it without harming those who don't.


Oh please. When I worked in a corporate office, there was SO much wasted time. Meetings didn't start until 10-15 minutes passed the scheduled time because everyone was chatting. The water cooler talk, lunch breaks. Yes, some people work diligently at the office the entire time they're there, but I'm
Guessing that of an 8-hour workday most people only worked 60% of the time.

Hey, I don't set the policies or enforce them. But we have a zero telework policy in my office and this is one of the primary reasons why. There definitely are people who abuse it - openly and using the same kind of justification you're employing here. The rest of us pay the price.
