They would not have filed if it hadn't been transmitted. And if she dies first he'll catch a manslaughter or murder

But wouldn't she have immediately received prophylactic meds to lessen chances of contracting the disease? I don't know that she actually has it.

If she found out within 72 hours, she should have been given post-exposure prophalaxis which is highly effective. It doesn't say if that actually happened, though. Also, if he was on HIV meds, that would have lowered the risk of transmission, too.

I now know to do this but who knows to do this ?

Not enough people, quite honestly. I was in a position several years ago where I needed to take it (long story) and had to specifically request it from the ER and even they didn't even know what to do. It is a 30 day regimin and the meds are horrible, but it was effective.

I have yet to meet a guy who will use a condom. They all refuse and just say they are clean.

Your reply should only be one if these:
"Go f*ck yourself."
"Sorry, I don't play that way."
"Not going to happen."
"Maybe we will remember to buy condoms next time. It'll have to wait."

You need to shpw some respect for your own body and health before expecting someone else will do the same.

I think they're saying he exposed her not that she was infected (or doesn't know yet).

Love her saying "he didn't offer to wear a condom." So she has no responsibility in it? Idiot.

The law says the person who's HIV positive and is aware of it has the responsibility to not expose others.

That's your first reaction to hearing that a guy knowingly transmitted HIV to another person??

Not this poster but yes, it's what I thought too. The article I read said they had sex several times during the weekend. In all those times having sex, the victim didnt ask the man to wear a condom? Not even the first time they had sex? WTF

I have yet to meet a guy who will use a condom. They all refuse and just say they are clean.

So you are a virgin, then right? Because that's the only sane option out there if this is really the quaility of the people you are finding out there.

I don't think it is confirmed he infected her just that he exposed her. HIV is actually fairly hard to get from hetero sex.

Wow, not true and a dumb thing to perpetuate.

Whole thing sounds fishy. She found his test results in his backpack?? What is this - an afterschool special?

The WTOP article I read said he HIV man texted her after a bare backed sex filled weekend that he had it. That is how she found out.

If he sucked, she wouldn't have allowed so many events. He must have screwed like his life was ending.

This is why the hookup drinking culture needs to go away. Sadly it seems to start in college. Old fashion dating, getting to know someone as a friend first and not drinking would really benefit our society.
