Not to pile on, but why wasn't the subject of the thread "How do I open a jar of homemade jam?"

So as not to give myself away to local friends who also read here. A three-year age difference when you're an adult doesn't really matter.

It might have been more discreet if you left the part about the foodie friend off. None of the details of your non-foodie status is relevant to the fact that you didn't know how to open the jar. I'm sure your foodie friends will figure you out if they're DCUM readers; you've shared plenty of details.
