I am not PP - but I understand that posters frustration and I don't think it was directed at you personally OP (although to be fair - in your shoes I would've been upset too). I think the PP and others just get frustrated by the constant focus on "being advanced", MCPS sucks, etc. on these threads. |
If you read it, it clearly was directed at me personally, as well as anyone else who criticizes the system. I'm not upset, really, because that person doesn't have enough credibility to upset me. But I think that person has no valid leg to stand on in being blatantly dismissive and insulting to me and my child. I really, really hope that person is not a teacher. I do not understand how one can be so ridiculous and think it's justified by "frustration". Imagine if, in my "frustration", I had referred to "another idiot teacher"? Wouldn't be acceptable, would it? |
Why would you think that that PP was a teacher? I inferred that that PP was a parent. |
Lady -- get over it -- i said freaking kid -- not the same as saying your kid is a freak! No one is crapping on your kid -- but just because your kid has a perfectionist thing -- which a lot of people do have -- doesn't mean the report cards need to be re-tooled just to satisfy him/her! |
I am the poster to whom you are referring. Thank you for getting exactly what I was trying to say. It is the point of ridiculous -- I understand that the system is imperfect(as they all are), but because people have specific and very individualized issues that are not being perfectly addressed does not mean the entire system sucks -- it just doesn't. Should we all want to figure out how to refine the system so that is works as well as any PUBLIC school system can -- sure. That is quite different than saying there is a conspiracy to keep down all these genius kids down and hide the ball from parents so they cannot see how poorly their snowflakes are doing. And if some anonymous person on the internet thinks that someone is personally referring her anonymous kid who they have never met ...well then...enough said. |
It's the internet lady - not etiquette class. If you are that sensitive, maybe this not the playground for you. |
