It will come down to the area where I can find a good affordable daycare (still have about 8 months of daycare) and convenient commute.

OP - very smart. I think you're focusing on great areas!

LOL. Vienna is mostly one long strip mall along Route 123 with terrible traffic. It's also VERY conservative. I would not want to be a single mom and live there.

Hmmm... it is more liberal than you might think...

Town of Vienna voted for McAuliffe roughly 58% to 35% for Cucinelli (see http://vienna.patch.com/groups/elections/p/viennas-hunter-mill-district-sees-494-percent-voter-turnout )

The state delegate is Mark Keam and the State Senator is Chap Peterson who are both democrats.

So, I don't know where this poster is getting the idea from

The YWCA Children's Center is a great daycare mid-way between Merrifield and Tyson's right off Gallows. You should check it out. If you could afford it, Clarendon is definitely the place to be but I think it's over your range. Good luck!

Isn't that area dangerous?

I have lived in this area for 35 years and Dunn Loring//Merrifield has never been dangerous

There is actually more crime and homeless people in arlington because Merrified / Dunn Lorring is mostly middle to upper where as arlington has alot of less fortunate people.

This is an odd comment.
