What do you think of Joyce Meyer and other super-wealthy ministers?

They may not say it out loud, and they may not even know that they are thinking this consciously, but they are thinking it. This is one of the reasons Mitt Romney lost. People just didn't trust him, and they couldn't quite put their fingers on why they didn't. The wealth is the reason.

Jesus wasn't wealthy, and he did call upon people to be broke. He asked the disciples to give up their livelihoods. He cast the money changers out of the temple. A lot of people on the religious right might argue that giving money away encourages dependency, but there are plenty of organizations that just invest in businesses started by the poor, or give people in developing countries a one time benefit of a productive asset, like a cow or an irrigation pump.

???

Those on the religious right are proponents of churches and individuals giving money and charity to the poor. Just not the government.

Amazing how one interprets the Bible in regard to other's actions and then with their self-righteous attitude puts themselves before God and judges others.

Sorry, quoting the plain meaning of Jesus' words is not "judging others". When you're barred from Heaven because you've spent your life pursuing Earthly riches, you can't say you weren't warned. Read the Bible.

Listening to these wealthy ministers always makes me think that I have got to figure out a way to convince strangers to send me lots of money.

I guess the biggest question here is, whether it is scriptural or not to acrue wealth in the name of God.
Now we as christians all agree thath Paul the great apostle wrote the blue for the New Testament church, the epistles, where they details instructions on how to run a church, their conduct as leaders etc etc. Now no where does it state to acrue wealth, great wealth at that, as these ministers are very very wealthy not just well off.
Also Paul himself lived under the new testament, howcome Paul or Timothy never built themselves a mediterranaen mansion, where they could go and rest up during their travels across the med?? Also in the episltes Paul does not even mention a prosperit gospel? Remeber Paul was living unde the New Testament too, strange how the Holy Spriti never instructed Paul to write about such a gospel, mm very interesting indeed. Leads one to where on earth didi it start? I will tell you, ORal RObert and William Branan.

+1. These million dollar ministers "earn" their pay from fairly low-income congregants.

She is a false prophet. She does not conform to sound sane Catholic teaching and perhaps her wealth influences her ministry and deceptions.

This whole thread is hilarious 😂

Ya'll fighting over someone who was smart enough to bamboozle the gullible and make her and her family rich. Tale as old as time.

Based on the responses, many of you don't understand the basics of what Christ taught. You're literally victims of cant see the forest for the trees.

Jesus would clearly look down upon what she is doing, and this includes successful business people who aren't faith based. The source of her money might be why she garners extra criticism, but that is arguing over an insignificant point.

They're all con artists. This reminds me of Trump's "Faith Advisor" Paula White Cain. She is promising that if you give her $1000, God will assign you an angel, among other things:

What there is no heaven and we all go to the same place (nowhere) when we die, no matter if we've spent our time pursuing earthly riches or giving our money to the poor?

i.e., there's no "heavenly reward". the Bible is an old book meant to keep people in line centuries ago.
The life we're having now is our only life, no matter how good or bad we are.
