Asian American students at private schools?

Um (yes, "um"), I think it was a joke.

This thread has gotten ridiculous. Who cares if there are more Asians in public than in private? My husband is a brilliant business man but I don't think him being Asian has anyhing to do with it-his cousins definitely don't have a knack for business, or math and science. Oh-but they're Filipino, not Chinese or Korean, which I'm sure says a lot

Its nice that everyone has the opportunity on this thread to vent their thoughts about this topic - if you are wondering "who cares" - well, its clear that a lot of people do ...just look at all the posts. I think that its probably just as relevant as asking the number of any ethnicity, whether it be "black" "white" or whatever, and the fact that someone wants to ask the question - well, thats their right, isn't it? Or are we so terrified of "sounding racist" that we can't ask a question? Maybe the answer to that question is complex - that is, there isn't a great way to quantify the number of "asians" because the definition of what makes a person asian is as diverse as the population of "asia" itself - but that doesn't mean that the question shouldn't be asked. After all, the schools are required to answer - when they publish their demographics on "minority" admissions.
