My German family also does this. I don't know why people get so freaked out about kissing on the lips. It's not like we're making out or something. It's just a peck.

Mine too — Polish.

I am american born and raised, and we kiss family on the lips. It's not done in your family, but you can't speak for the whole country.

+100

Plus think of all the old movies/TV shows with the old grandma or aunty pulling someone close with both hands on cheeks for a kiss. I could be wrong, but I think this was the case with Raymond’s mom on Evweybody Loves Raymond.

My Italian side does this. I don’t like it anymore.

People who are creeped out by a parent kissing their child on the lips really creep me out.

Yeah, like Tom Brady having his son kiss him on the lips when he was 11 or 12 and acting like it was something immoral.

Does anyone know if this topic is still going strong among folks who have log in accounts?

I am opposed to it for hygienic reasons. It's culturally different than what grew up with but that doesn't mean it's wrong. I just think it's a good way to spread germs so I don't want to do it.
