Public schools, people, public schools.
My vote is for Oyster. |
The Post has a piece in favor of Strong John Thomson:

I vote Oyster too
Or Stoddert |
She's visiting GDS and Maret today. |
Well, somebody on the private thread said that, I saw it too. I can't say I have complete confidence in anything that shows up on that thread.... |
I won't believe it till it's a done deal
|
Much as I love Oyster, it's a big, big jump for anyone who has never been exposed to Spanish. Besides, how much change can a kid take at their ages? PP made excellent point that they'll ask their friends. As any of us would. GDS makes sense for this reason. Sidwell makes sense because they've done the First Child thing recently. Amy Carter went to Stevens, which was shut down this year. (Love the home school post. Maybe Obamas could start their own charter?) |
It's not just the private school forum that's talking about GDS:

It sounds like you are offering some options for public school. Confusing post! |
A couple of sources quote the DC schools communications dept as saying that they're considering Oyster and Murch. |
Really?
Why not Janney? |
Just joking
I saw a post on WTOP saying there were a few schools under consideration, but no names |
Janney is already crowded as it is. |
Not that they care, but I would respect them so much more if they chose public schools for their children. There are few things that annoy me more than Democrats, especially ones endorsed by the NEA, send their kids to private schools. The hypocrisy makes me nauseous. |
Most wealthy people do, though. Even DC's mayor still has his kids in private school. |
