What were your 6 picks?

These all have huge waitlists. So you're prepared to strike out, right? Not a wrong strategy, just checking.

Agree with above...unless one of these is your inbounds school you have a good chance of striking out. I would pick an acceptable 'sure thing' as #6. Ludlow Taylor, maybe? Its not great but could provide a descent ps3 year with lots of hill kids.

Sorry, looks like Peabody is your IB. You will be fine then...maybe give Peabody a call and see if all IB eventually kids got in this past year. If they did I wouldn't worry.

Peabody did not admit all IB children for PS3 last year.

Hi, this is 9:24...may be worth checking to see if all IB got in off the wait list by count day in October.
Anonymous
No need to check. We are IB and id not make it off the waitlist for PS3.

14:54 is correct. No need to check. I believe less than 5 kids made it off the IB Peabody PS3 waitlist last year. I think the last time I called I was told my child moved 4 spots.

Haven't pulled the trigger, butours for PreK4 are:

1-Oyster
2-Bancroft
3-Eaton
4-Marie Reed
5-Murch
6-Maury

Debating switching Murch out for Tyler Spanish. In my case, we're already in a good charter with great PreK 4 teachers and IB for Maury. Immersion is uber important and my top picks are all charters. I figured why not shoot for the sky with DCPS.lol

Last year, we were WL for Maury in the single digits(I think it was 4th or 5th choice) and received a call from Maury in May.

I would not bother with Murch, we know IB kids that didn't get in to pre-k this year. I was going to suggest going with Hearst instead but if immersion is your priority then go for Tyler.

17:30 here. 15:42 are you IB as well? Yikes. It feels like Brent is a throwaway (and likely Maury as well?) Think I can get a spot OOB at Ludlow?) What is DCPS going to do when kindergarten starts on the hill?!

Can I delete an application I already submitted and re-do it?

Hi, I doubt you can redo your picks (but maybe you can?). Just wanted to chime in on Ludlow...if you happen to strike out, call Ludlow and get on their wait list. I know as of the start of the year my son's PS3 class had a few empty spots. I think they still had a wait list at this point but they didn't call people. (I know this b/c a neighbor never got a call even though LT was open about having some open spaces.) Not sure why, other than well, its LT.

15:42 here-- yes, we are inbound for Peabody. We are applying again for PK4-- but give the number of In bounds kids on last years wait list (high 30s) I have a feeling there will be inbounds kids on the wait list again.

Are they expanding Peabody seats again this year? Thought I heard that somewhere...

15:48 here and I never received a call either.

I could just be optimistic but for those interested in Maury, they appeared to move through the WL for PS3 pretty fast IMO. I received a call from them like the week after enrollment forms were due. I took it to mean that other IB families like ours were still trying other options first.
