| OT but was Aaron Spelling not as rich as people thought he was? Why is Tori a working class actor instead of kicking back enjoying an early retirement? |

I have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard at this thread
(especially about "reek/dean cain" and Brenda's mom jeans with the generous 9 inch zipper) |
the clothes! Dear God!

Aaron left Tori very little (relatively speaking, of course). I want to say it was $800,000. She used the money she got to purchase the B&B on which the first season of her reality show was based (Chateau LaRue). She sold the B&B after a year or so and probably didn't get all her money out of it. Obviously, I know way too much about Tori. For some reason, I find Tori fascinating. I've seen every season of her reality show (hangs head in shame). In some ways, she is very down to earth and in other ways she is super weird and you can see the impact of the way she grew up. She does work very hard, which is interesting given the environment she was raised in. She also is able to make fun of herself. Before the reality show, she did a show called So NoTORIous that was scripted but basically autobiographical. She played herself and every episode was basically making fun of Tori. God, I sound like such a stalker. |
I am intrigued by Tori as well and can't wait for the new season. I find her oddly refreshing. |
I thought she was his favorite and spoiled rotten. Curious that he only left her $800k. Did he leave most of the money to Tori's mom? |
| What'd you guys think of Valerie? Remember how she lit up in her first episode signaling what a 'bad girl' she was supposed to be? |
| The breakup scene between Brenda and Dylan (fall of 1992??) is the best break-up scene ever! So loved the summer of 90210 from 20 years ago, glad to know I'm not the only one who still remembers it. That show will always be special to me. |
New poster also intrigued by Tori, but I admit I found her more fascinating when she didn't have the successful enterprises she has now. Good for her, but makes for less interesting reality TV. Tori's interviews have implied that he was senile near the end of his life and her mom manipulated him into leaving her less. |
| I wouldn't trust Tori's mom. She seems like a gold digger who resented Tori. When Tori got married, Tori invited her nanny instead of her mom (slap!), which tells you something. Good for her, I say. She wanted the world to know the truth, her mom probably made no effort with Tori. Tori was close to her dad and I bet her mom was so insanely jealous of daddy's little girl! I have not yet read Tori's (2?) books, but I want to eventually. Is the mom still alive? If so, I'm surprised she gave Tori anything. The mom seems greedy. NP here. |
I also think of this. LOL. |
| Tori stalker here re the money Aaron left her. Tori's explanation is that Aaron built his empire on his own and got incredible satisfaction from that, so he wanted the same for his kids. Tori's description of Aaron's views on inheritance kind of reminded me of Warren Buffett's. (Can't believe I just put a sentence together that refers to both Tori Spelling Warren Buffett!) Tori said she wasn't surprised that she didn't get more and she didn't take it as an insult or anything. I think she has said that all the drama with her mom created some distance with her dad before her died. I also think her divorce and re-marriage to the Deanster didn't help things with her mom. However, I think Randy (her brother) didn't have the same issues with the parents and he got the same amount as Tori. I assume the bulk of the estate went to Tori's mom. |

Remember the episodes where Dylan was dating the Noxema girl? And she had ties to the mob and her dad killed her instead of Dylan? I'm pretty sure the show had jumped the shark by that point.
Remember Donna's mom all coked up at the fashion show? |
| I though her parents were mad about her dumping the first husband so quickly and getting involved with Dean while he was married |
