Melrose Place was a spin off. The Heights was something different. Same guy but I don't think he played Ray Pruit did he? Would they spin off to a guy who pushed Tori Spelling down the steps? If so no wonder it failed. Either way, another interesting piece of trivia was that Ray Pruit, in real life, was once either engaged or had a short term marriage to Drew Barrymore. |
And I think he's an EMT or something like that now. Too lazy to Google. |
| Just googled it. Jamie Walters is an EMT with the LA fire department or something like that. Yum. |
| This is the best thread EVER! I want to forward it out to all my friends. I loved 90210 and can still hear the into music in my head clear as day! |
|
Had had that great "how do you talk to an angel" song, right?
|
| I was harassed during my HS senior week when some guys found out that I brought along the 90210 soundtrack (on cassette tape)! Those were the days... |
Just last week I heard a long interview on Howard Stern with Tiffani Theissen (no more Amber). She sounded incredibly normal. Apparently she and Jennie Garth were actually really good friends, to the point where Tiffani was in the room when Jennie gave birth to her first child. Then they had some kind of falling out and now they hate each other. Tiffani wouldn't say what happened. |
omgggg nothing was more hilarious than Ray Pruitt!! So ridiculous!! Him and his truck and smashing Donna's pumpkins - LOL! |

Remember when the group learned homeless people existed and Brandon invited one for Thanksgiving? Believe he was a vet (as in war, not a doctor who is trained to work with animals).
Not that I'm making too much fun, my high school years were pretty sheltered too and it's not like I was in expert in the problems of the homeless. I hated the one where Brenda pretended to be that sassy waitress at the Peach Pit. But remember when she stayed late to study for exams and someone robbed the Peach Pit and she kept having those flashbacks? And her breast cancer scare? And early on, Brandon met that really rich girl at a party and learned that rich people have problems too. She was hosting the party but had no friends, since all the kids used her for her parties. |

Ok, also there's what my friends and I call the David Silver Dance. He'd warm up by kind of hopping side to side and once he got going he would slide his legs out to the side and do a windmill thing with his arms. It usually ended with him on the floor doing pelvic thrusts. Here's one clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sMz5airlZ0 but I'm sure there are others that are better (and WTF is going on with Annnnndrea's prom dress?). One of my friends can do the David Silver Dance perfectly and we make her do it pretty much every time we get together.
And remember Steve Sanders' frat at CU was Kappa Episilon Gamma or KEG. AKA the KEG House. Oh, so clever. What a show. What a time. |
| ^^ OMG what in the hell is Andrea wearing? |
| Does anybody remember the episode with Kerri Strug? I think she played herself. She was a student at their college (CU?) and David met her. She was a horrible actress. |
|
Jamie Walters said later than the acting role on 90210 really hurt his career. His core audience turned against him because his character was abusive. Couldn't separate fact from fiction.
I loved when Kelly joined the cult. I'm not a negater! My favorite moment was when the parents are totally focused on Brandon's achievement when Brenda comes to tell them something good she did. They totally blew her off. Explained a lot. |
Ray Pruitt was not in Melrose Place. That was Jake Hanson (Grant Show). Jake was the carpenter hired to construct the gazebo for Jackie and Mel's wedding. Kelly was moody that summer and started flirting with him. Jake eventually moved to a certain apartment complex. The Heights was something completely different. |

Does anyone remember the show Models Inc? I think it was another spinoff. There was some gunshot cliffhanger, and then the show never returned in the fall :p
