Question about leaving dogs outside

We do not WAH every day. I do 1-2 times per week, DH does about 1 day every other week.

We only have one neighbor on our block who is home during the day. Everyone WOH except the sole retired lady.

Don't assume you know the life patterns of everyone on your block OP. There could be a change in pattern coming up, then that person is stuck listening to your dog barking. And any dog will bark when another dog walks by with the owner. In our neighborhood that happens frequently. And yankees will poison a nuisance barking dog sadly. Don't leave your dog outside. Seriously, don't even get one with your schedule unless you're doing doggie day care--or crate him and hire a dog walker. If you can't afford to do this, you can't afford a dog.

My dog will let out a snuffle/snort/bark whenever anyone walks past our house talking (which happens pretty frequently in AU Park) and it is barely audible outside the house. She's wild thing and I would NEVER leave her alone outside for fear of her digging under or bolting over even a 6 foot fence. We have a neighbor that has a miniature breed that bars all day at every passerby or rustling leaf. It's pretty annoying. I wish people would not do this.

To the sheep herding dog owner --yeah, well, if it's a border collie, you know those dogs are crazy smart and so specifically bred for that task -so, not a fair comparison for most of us with our dumb as a post dogs. The dumber, the more they endlessly they bark, imo.

A little bit down from Winchester. They aren't border collies but Maremmas. They live with the sheep so the coyotes don't eat my lambs. I eat my sheep, or very expensive restaurants do. Not coyotes or feral dogs that you crazy city people drop off on the roadside for me to shoot.

Who is the criminal that keeps posting? You realize there are ways to 1.) easily track down your dog and 2.) easily pay for testing that allows the owner to know how it was killed and 3.) go after whomever has motive to do so? 4.) most people I know have cameras 24/7 at/in their residence, especially if they have nuisance neighbors.

I find that neurotic dogs are the barkers. My dog was smart as hell (poodle mix), but he was neurotic as hell. Barked at the smallest sound.

Me? I don't shoot barking dogs, but I will shoot or my dogs will kill, dogs running my stock. Dogs bark. They're supposed to.....they aren't supposed to be left "in the country" without food or shelter when that is all they've ever known. They will either get ht by a car, die of exposure or go feral and get shot.

This is not true. Most mammals have "similar" genes, but the DNA of dogs and wolves is 98.8 identical, while humans and dogs share 5 percent of their genome.
