What's with the redhead bashing?

Signed redhead mom with 3 redhead boys (all exceedingly handsome)

Another mom of redheads here, and DH is a redhead as well. Both of my parents had red hair. Before having kids, I knew they would be redheads.

I despise the term "ginger" (used by one of the PPs). It is gratuitously mean. Not attracted to redheads? That's fine, we all have our preferences, at least in the abstract. But calling out someone/insulting an entire population with a given physical feature? Just gratuitously nasty.

I really doubt that red-headed men are that upset that as a rule of thumb I might find them attractive but not my kind of hot. Really, "gratuitously nasty" because I don't find your son or husband hot. My husband is bald do you find that sexy? If you don't, fine with me I can understand that a thick head of wavy hair of any color might be your thing. Funny thing is, I have dark brown/red hair.

PP, why do you despise the term "Ginger"? My family is English and we always say Ginger or Gingey. It's not an insult in the slightest!

I'm guessing the ones who think he's cute are also into Robert Pattison.

What's up with the new pale, prepubescent-looking craze?

I bet you would rather sleep with one of those tanned pigs from Jersey Shore.

Nope. All of those guys are babies. I'm only 31 and still don't particularly dig the "I just grew pubes" look.

I'll take Brad Pitt/Bradley Cooper/Ryan Reynolds/Idris Elba/Omar Epps/Will Smith please. I love MEN, not boys.

The Internet begs to differ. Calling someone a "ginger" is an insult.

It's not about my kids, my DH, or your husband. It is not about what is my thing, your thing, or a PP's thing.

It is about dismissing an entire group of people as unattractive on the basis of one physical feature (red hair, baldness). That is just nasty.

+1 !!

I said probably 6 times that red-heads can be attractive I just don't find they make me swoon! I said JFK was attractive but his reddish-blonde hair just isn't my thing. Let me repeart again., "I might find them attractive but not my kind of hot. " I'm not attracted to men with long hair, sorry to be "gratuitously nasty" to all those 80's rockers & bikers but it just isn't my thing.

Well. He's been dead 12 years; you may as well let your boiling disapproval go now, at last.

Thank you for this link, Prince Carl Philip is a royal hottie!

Prince Carl Philip is attractive but looks overly high maintenance for my tastes. Men who are too into their appearance just don't appeal to me.

Harry, on the other hand, seems like one of those types who either a) doesn't fully recognize his own appeal, or b) doesn't care, which makes him 10x sexier. I could be wrong, but that's how he comes off.
