Another mom of redheads here, and DH is a redhead as well.  Both of my parents had red hair.  Before having kids, I knew they would be redheads.

I despise the term "ginger" (used by one of the PPs).  It is gratuitously mean.  Not attracted to redheads?  That's fine, we all have our preferences, at least in the abstract.  But calling out someone/insulting an entire population with a given physical feature?  Just gratuitously nasty.[/quote]

I really doubt that red-headed men are that upset that as a rule of thumb I might find them attractive but not my kind of hot.  Really, "gratuitously nasty" because I don't find your son or husband hot.  My husband is bald do you find that sexy?  If you don't, fine with me I can understand that a thick head of wavy hair of any color might be your thing.    Funny thing is, I have dark brown/red hair.[/quote]

It's not about my kids, my DH, or your husband.  It is not about what is my thing, your thing, or a PP's thing.

It is about dismissing an entire group of people as unattractive on the basis of one physical feature (red hair, baldness).  That is just nasty.
