If passes, 5 in 5 will have a huge impact in lacrosse...

And now he can stay a 5th year. That's the point. This is the dumbest legislation and let's see if it passes the lawsuits. 4 in 5, no religious or military exceptions, you're done on your 25th birthday regardless of if it's in the middle of a season or not.

He reclassed, yes, but was only 19 when graduating HS.

The 5-in-5 doesn't affect eligibility for 19 year old high school grads.

Consequently, because there will now be smaller recruiting classes in college, there's probably more incentive to reclass when younger. The funnel to D1 got narrower which will trickle down to more looking for an edge younger.

And they will stay for a 5th. This along with the 48 person roster will cut the 2028's and the next 5 years by a huge percentage until it levels out.

I don’t think it will have as big an impact as you all do. They’ve already reduced the amount of D1 2027 boys and girls recruits by ~35% this cycle from the 26 class. Can they reduce it even more? Just my opinion.

If you think a 35% reduction is not having an impact that what do you consider a big impact?

True. Teams will have 60-player rosters instead of 90.

This rule "law" wasn't made with any consideration of a fringe sport like lacrosse.

Ivies do not allow 5th year so the ivies just got a huge BOOST because you do not have to worry about a 5th year from the portal taking your roster spot! The Ivy grad can then go into the portal their 5th year and take your spot!
