| Teslsa has easily been the best car I've ever owned and no FSD. Separate the car from the person. |
|
Tesla is losing sales to BYD. Tesla will continue to lose sales as other companies develop better EVs. That is just normal and predictable. It's a good thing to have competition. This is why Tesla is pivoting to the robo taxis and to the robotics. So it may be a good time to buy a different EV and maybe we will even get BYD sales going in the US. But so far Tesla is the largest EV producer outside of BYD. |
+1 I'm 67 years old and have owned a few cars. I feel grateful every time I get into the Tesla. In other countries the buyers seem to be able to separate politics from car buying (which is a good thing). |
| I love Toyotas. I've had two RAV4s and they're great and the looks age well. They still look good on the road ten years later. |
lol! Tesla has bottomed out in Europe, its other overseas market! You can’t give them away. It is loathed beyond belief. |
|
Toyota all the way.
Tesla safety ratings are really bad. I don’t want my kids burning alive in a car. Maintenance is very bad. It either works or it’s a brick. They are designed to be leased and replaced not owned for 10+ years. |
Good for them - I love my car and it's the best I've owned (not the poster you are replying to) |
You mean besides China? |
They loathe anything American right now. Anything we sell they will not buy. |
If they can't sell them, the price should go down and I will buy another one. |

Serious questions to OP.
Do you have the ability to charge at home overnight? EV’s charged just at Superchargers are not that economical. Range for your commute is not an issue with the Y but do you do a lot of cross country trips for vacations?….Supercharger network is extensive and growing but its still a hassle compared to finding gas stations in certain parts of the country. Split the difference and get the plug-in RAV4? 50+ miles all electric… |
Yes, I charge at home. I have solar panels so it costs me zero. Yes, I have done longer trips and used superchargers. We go on trips along the eastern seaboard and we have gone out to Minneapolis. We recently drove from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon and down to Tucson in a loop. No problem finding superchargers on that trip. If you go somewhere more remote I'm sure you might have to plan out your charging stops more. |
| Toyota. |
| Toyota. Tesla’s are not well made. They really are designed for people who lease and trade in their cars for a new model every few years. |

If you are concerned about longevity this is a pertinent article:
