OP here. You didn’t help at all. You made my exact point of posting this in the first place. Mostly, it reads as though you wanted to go on a lengthy rant to try to prove your brilliance. I know “development” is not what it seems in the US and people are getting scammed. Thanks, though. |
Lols u big mad keep ponying up them dollars then and stay quiet. Outsiders know what they’re talking about |

A conversation on development when development hasn't been defined and agreed upon by all the participants
What good can come of that, other than opinions driven by ego, insecurities and ignorance |
Not minimizing the critique made here because it is valid but here's a counter point. RU kid comes up through their system and decides to play for the USL team instead of college and gets transferred to Europe. https://www.uslleagueone.com/news_article/show/1355443 |

All these folks saying there's no development in America (nonsensical statement btw) and they know this because they're from real soccer countries and they're knowledgeable experts
You're here now, so aren't you part of the problem Why aren't you developing anyone? |
What's the point you're making? There are multiple paths and each should choose what they think works best for them and theirs |
College soccer isn't a pathway to top level professional career Occasionally lightning strikes, usually for goalkeepers |
The point is that there are examples of development. This kid came up through the Richmond system to go pro. |
Actually it didn't give details on his development. It showed some results and decisions |
To the OP, what’s your reason for posting on this forum again? Kids have to work on their games outside of club? Brilliant! Thank you for sharing! Now, piss off. |
I think he is a SYC shill upset that the top kids aren’t signing up in droves with the early tryout after they marketed their national MLS Next Championship. They are probably being asked about their development system and they are lashing out that it does not matter because their system is scrimmaging hard against the top players, winning youth trophies and reminiscing about the good old days at 18 years of age after they peaked when the “late bloomers” and “development junkies” are just getting started in D1 and pro environments. |
Looks like you been waiting to take a shot at SYC and got tired of waiting |
Indeed. Milking that cash cow called pay2play. Once (if) it dries out I’m packing me bags alright! |
Looks like you have raised the white flag on clubs not mattering. I can only hope SYC evolves to actually develop the talent they recruit so it does not remain the wasteland of potential it currently is. If people only knew. Just remember, you started the thread. Myself and a few others just ended your crusade. I hope you bring another natty home to the DMV. Several of us from multiple DMV clubs will quietly chuckle from Mallorca this summer at your "success." Cheers mate. |
I'm not sure exactly what you would like them to say specifically regarding his "development" but I think what Richmond Kickers is trying to do is interesting. They are actively trying to get their younger players signed and transferred. Being closer to that area than to DC, I have paid more attention to what they are up to. They have signed a number of players from the local Richmond United youth squad to USL-A contracts and this player chose to stay and play with the USL 1 team. Others, like Nick Simmonds signed the academy contract, went to UVA for a year and were drafted 3rd in the recent SuperDraft. IDK how this exactly relates to the original topic, but it interesting to see these players' progressions. |
