Its a bank for his brown shirts and anyone else who does his bidding.

You wont get in trouble and you'll get paid. Its setting up for violence at election/midterms.

Trump drops suit. Unclear if it's due to settlement or due to Trump giving up after failing to provide the basic minimum evidence to continue wasting the court's time.

Read the article you posted. He got $1.7bn taxpayer dollars to pay out his tax dodging cronies.

The filing came shortly after ABC News reported that Trump was expected to drop the suit in exchange for the creation of a $1.7 billion fund made up of taxpayer dollars that would be used to compensate the president’s allies who have argued they were wrongly targeted by previous administrations, including those charged in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol.

+1 This is not good.

If I were Trump and his DOJ I would be careful about the kind of precedent this would set. Do they really want a future administration making similar payments to people like James Comey and John Brennan?

This. The difference is this a fund to keep the cult happy and running. Running a cult isn’t cheap.

$1.8 Billion IRS Fund Could Funnel Money to Trump Allies. Critics call the compensation plan a political slush fund bankrolled by taxpayer money.

The Justice Department said that it had created a $1.8 billion fund that could compensate supporters of President Trump who contend they were mistreated by Democratic administrations. The announcement came as part of a settlement with President Trump of his $10 billion lawsuit against the I.R.S.

Great. We paid out $5mn to a vandal loon who was shot while breaking and entering the capitol, and now we can pay out $1.8 billion to Trump's tax avoidant buddies.

I am looking forward to seeing all of mainstream media call this blatant looting of the Treasury "highly unorthodox" and "a break from norms." They might even say it's “testing the limits of presidential power” if they're feeling frisky.

None dare call it corruption.

from the agreement...

"the United States has no liability whatsoever for the protection or safeguarding of those funds"

So, if the funds go missing, there's nothing anyone can do. Unreal.

The defendants that Trump is suing will be represented by Trump's own DOJ. No way is this a conflict of interest

Blame your leftist nutter:

“ The IRS wrongly allowed a rogue, politically-motivated employee to leak private and confidential information about President Trump, his family, and the Trump Organization to the New York Times, ProPublica and other left-wing news outlets, which was then illegally released to millions of people.:

It will also go to the J6ers. Including the ones who killed and injured cops and the ones who have gone on to commit other crimes. One of those guys molested 2 young girls, then promised them money that he knew he was getting from the government, to keep them quiet. That's who will be getting our tax dollars.

the person was fired. how was that "wrongly allowed???"

And are you complaining about DOGE sharing personal information with the entire US population on the dark web?

The terms of DOJ's slush fund appear to transfer control of $1.8 billion beyond US government entirely. Unless I'm misreading this, that would circumvent Congress *entirely* and put the money outside of *any* constitutional and/or legal constraints ofany kind. Straight up theft.

Are Trump's supporters okay with him straight up stealing from the treasury?

The whole thing is massively corrupt, and if Congress doesn't quash this, then it, too, is massively corrupt and we might as well move to another country.

Um, by definition, if you're a Trump supporter, you're good with his techniques which is often stealing, obnoxiousness and gruesome displays of aggression so I'm not sure why you would even consider how his supporters feel?

Isn't it obvious by now that his supporters would love more corruption, I'm not sure what part you don't get? The more Trump does this kind of stuff, the more popular he gets with his supporters you idiot!!!
