Yes, I wrote earlier in the thread that I did this. Worked out well. Started getting mail again today with no issues.

update from Vienna - mail resumed about 3 days ago and has come every day since. They are climbing over ice banks if it is not cleared to get to every house.

Update: Mail carrier made her way down the street and stopped at our house to pick up outgoing mail. My wife asked about mail to be delivered and she responded that she didn't have any for us. This means we received mail only once since 1/24.

We haven't had a delivery in 22207 since Thursday a week ago, despite informed delivery showing we have many items to be delivered.

Something is up in 22207 I am in 22205 and don’t think we’ve missed more than a couple days at the start of the snow when we still have pretty treacherous conditions on my block I wouldn’t blame them for skipping us
