Not the person you're quoting, but I went to Georgetown and it felt like everyone there had been rejected from an Ivy League school. People only talked about it the first week of freshman year.

NYU was top choice.

Are you out of state for Texas? What major? Thanks.

I’m asking because I would expect NYU to be a fair bit easier than UT Austin oos.

We are in state. He applied to Stern.[/quote

How the bloody heck do you know this about your kid's COLLEGE friends?

I am super involved in the lives of my college kids and talk to them almost every day but i would have zero knowledge about where 10 of their college friends were rejected from college. That is just really, really, really weird.

Overall impression is that kids thrive at the schools they ended up, and grew the fastest. They may not be if admitted to their first choices.

That’s the nature of the ED system. Especially EDII. A lot of the steps down (including Oberlin) are EDII schools. People burn out and feel defeated after the first rejection and just want to be done.
