pp here i still haven't google mapped where 'nokesville' is. i'm too scared it'll infect my computer with the ghosts of jeb stuart a mom from nokesville should not be posting here unless she does research before hand. Her question on why apartment prices are up and then posting from nokesville....she should've researched housing cost dynamics before coming here. |
I agree...but I remember many kids from Manhattan who in fact just moved back into their old bedrooms and saved some major $$$s before moving out on their own (either renting or buying). One friend just lived at home and bought a little Hamptons bungalow instead. It matters tremendously where the parent homestead may be. The same kids would never have moved back home if their parents lived in Westchester or LI or NJ. |
The high cost of buying a home pushes people into renting. The increase in demand for renting pushes the prices up for apartments. It stinks. My Gen X boss with a home worth almost a million has a mortgage payment equivalent to a 2 bd 2 brd apt in the Montgomery County area. |

Oh wow. Most allow their adult kids GF/BF to come over and shack and play house. Think there was a whole thread on this .. Ehh |
No way I would like my kid's boyfriend or girlfriend move in. That would drive me nuts. If they are old enough for a live-in companion, they are too old to live at home. |
