Yes. And the truth is that AT is a college track STEM program. Very very clear from their website -- and also from parents of students actually attending AT. |
The aide exam? I guess they could become an aide if they wanted. Most kids are going to college though, so for most, it’s more about relevant experience in the field, not heading off to work as an aide as a career. |
Ok. And? These are college-bound kids trying to get relevant experience in various fields. Not sure why you are so confused about this. |
WTF? The “truth” is pretty clear to the rest of us. You seen like you’re trolling now. |
Is there an ESL program for interested students at ACC or Tech? |
Meaning ESL accommodation for students interested in the programs offered there. |
I believe ESL services are provided across APS? |
to quote that person Mel whatever. let them. This idiot (or idiots) are confounding two programs. Let them. It's a great school with great programs and is serving a great number of ARL kids. If this idiot doesn't see it. Fine. Let their kid flounder at wherever they are and let kids who want/need AT/ACC have at it. |
I have a kid at Tech and during back to school night I was in many classes with a woman with a translator. Since we were in about half of the classes together, I learned a lot (my kid has an IEP). Her girl is in AT. Mom is not fluent in English. Acc/Tech is making sure mom and child are on the same page. I know this is not a direct answer to your question but it's a great program/great school and my kid said this girl is doing great. |
| For the poster talking about how it’s “career exploration” only, please remember that for many of these courses the students are dual enrolled and receive college credit… so they do get a bit more. They get started on the further academic requirements for some of these careers, and they’re sure they want to pursue them (or not) afterward. That’s valuable. |
These courses aren’t listed in the PTA program at NVCC, so no, they don’t fulfill any requirements. Career exploration isn’t a bad thing. |
They fulfill elective credits right? |
I don’t think that’s how community college works, but I could be wrong. It looks like there’s a very specific course sequence that must be followed. Also, PT and OT are different careers. Not sure why they are combo courses. Very strange. |
. You’re really stuck on the PT class. I know there are other classes at ACC that students can apply directly to their programs. |
|
While in HS, AT students can earn a general studies associate’s degree, not a PTA-specific associate’s degree.
Or they can use the DE credits as a general education elective. |
