Baseball was invented in Americal and we play the game more than anyone else. It makes sense that we pay baseball players more than an American soccer league. The same is true with Soccer + Europe. |
Yup- zero risk. Especially if they don’t make money. #DA This is like ground hog day. |
What are you responding to? How much are U16 players in academies getting paid in Italy? |
In England EPL top Academy u12-u16 players are paided 52k a year In Italy they do the American university trick and consider u16 and younger players Amateur and therefore dont get paid. England used to do the Amateur trick with young players and not pay them. This resulted in near zero Homegrown talent. So they forced clubs to pay u12-u16 Academy players with the thought that this would attract more highly talented players. |
Not really. What took DA down was US Soccer giving out free soccer. It just didnt make sense. Girls DA double didnt make sense. MLS taking over boys DA and turning it into their Academy / Homegrown pathway does make sense. GA is primed to be NWSLs Academy / Homegrown pathway whenever they choose to get involved. MLS2 and GA are functioning as P2P leagues so theres little to no risk. |

Check out this story https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6589530/2025...crocker-usmnt-uswnt/ "Tangibly, thus far, they’ve begun to coordinate a “unified youth calendar” with leagues like MLS Next. They are working on digital platforms. They are reaching out, building trust." |
Behind a paywall and I can’t even see who is trying to “coordinate.” |
🙏🏻 thank you sharing! Really insightful! |
Every year a new and insightful article comes out |
Wow this is false on every level. Children aren’t paid in Europe to play football. Jfc |
It was from The Onion paper |
