Ask parents of kids/alumni where students were exposed to abuse and schools fired the teacher but didn’t disclose the reason.

This is not a corporate job and comparing the two makes no sense. We are talking about vulnerable minors.

The school should go on record and say NO inappropriate behavior happened.

Agree. School counselor gets fired. Definitely vulnerable minors.

Did the counselor get fired? This is very serious. School should disclose.

Agree. Very strange. She did not resign or ask to leave during the year. Fired because probably she made a (big) mistake.

A firing during the start of the year does disrupt the quality of education and my kid. If the quality is lower I guess is reasonable to ask for this information as a customer. Maybe you are not use to ask question when there is a downgrade in quality. All if you would happily eat cat instead of steak in a restaurant without asking any questions.

OP, honey, we aren’t the trolls, you are.

Sure, don’t ask question about your school if ignorance turns you on.

We’ve answered your question. You ask how schools handle it. None of them disclose details. The fact that you don’t like that answer doesn’t make the responders trolls.

Agree. Barring a criminal act, schools won’t and shouldn’t disclose personnel information to parents.

Agree with you criminal acts or physical attacks to kids but people here want NO disclosure at all. You really deserve what you get from your private schools.

Not quite.

You’ve been wanting to know why people got fired or left midyear. If it was a criminal issue, you’d know. Since you don’t, you can reasonably assume it’s absolutely none of your business.

And if that answer bothers you, then move to school you trust more. But know this: the next school isn’t going to tell you why teachers leave, either.

Definitely I wouldn’t move to a school with parents as humble but you. I am glad you are not in charge of schools. You know school learn over time from their mistakes. Before it was ok to hide cases of sexual assault, not anymore. Maybe in the future there could be more disclosure of illicit activities by teachers. Just wait and see.

Sounds like you would be happy if that happened. Why?

Not at all. On the contrary, full disclosure makes the teachers and administration more accountable (they know that parents will leave if something bad happened and everyone notices it)

You misunderstand the reasons why parents choose to leave a school.

You are literally the same person posting minutes apart to stir up drama because this thread isn’t going your way

Not all, just testing the patience of people like you that enjoy opacity and think that teacher cannot do wrong things. Many do.
