People saying to take Tylenol are either sadistically trolling, or plain evil.

Tylenol is hard on the liver, and combinding it with ethanol can be very harmful and even deadly.

I honestly don’t think Tylenol, when taken according to label instructions, is going to blow out your liver if you have had 2.5 drinks.

A good burger and some fries can be enough to stop the worst of a hangover, but the real skill is drinking one for one and alternating water with your booze. Also being some part Irish. Also smoking weed, if you're into that.

Or, you know, not drinking. I haven't had a hangover once since I stopped drinking.

This is lame advice. Why bother posting

Cool. Stay wasted, asshat.

Who cares what this anon "honestly" thinks or doesn't?

This is dangerous. Don't do it.

Pretty much. I was OP a few years back but ultimately mostly stopped drinking. I will now have ONE drink sometimes socially, for fun, but only with food and plenty of water and I will often take headache medication proactively before bed.

I found my alcohol tolerance went south fast in my 40s, post-kids, even though my overall health improved (eating great, more consistent exercise, just better lifestyle overall with better sleep and gut health). My doctor thinks there is a link between peri-menopause/menopause and alcohol tolerance, and says she's seen a lot of women with my same issue (migraines or tension headaches triggered by mild to moderate alcohol intake) and there doesn't appear to be a silver bullet.

Your doctor isn’t an alcohol specialist. It’s not like she told you anything meaningful

Do people see "alcohol specialists"? What the heck is that? Someone who studies your body to ensure it can process alcohol effectively? That makes no sense.

I know, right? I have Irish friends and they can drink so much more than I can. One of my other friends, Eastern European ashkanazi, is similar. Rarely a hangover, and can mix wine with hard liquor and back again. I’m not Asian fwiw so I can’t figure out why it hits me so hard.

Not getting hungover is one reason I decided I need to deliberately dial down the booze! other night I had a 16 oz high alcohol beer, a large Negroni, and then a 6% alcohol dry cider … and felt nothing the next day. Oops.

Means nothing. That's not that much, assuming you are a man over 150lbs, if you are healthy.
Hangovers are a sign of over consumption and toxic buildup of acetates and is caused by consuming badly made alcoholic drinks, or having a body or genetics that doesn't handle the breakdown of the toxin well.
A healthy person won't have a hangover or negative effects from 5 drinks or less the next day, unless they drink junk, eat carbs with it, and don't hydrate, or have a faulty liver.

A sign you need to dial back drinking is weight gain, or if you get drunk on less than 3-5 drinks, then something is amiss and you are in the damaging stage of drinking.

Tell us you're an alcoholic without telling us you're an alcoholic.

Retired doctor and former competitive athlete. Though I still do marathons. You are projecting or have some mental issues.

Yup, only sick people get hangovers from 5 of fewer drinks.

Avoid it, yes, but it isn't nearly as dangerous as you're suggesting.

Nope I am a normal weight woman

Also alcohol tolerance is a sign of addiction. Getting drunk on small amounts mean the opposite of what you say.

If you do it frequently and the amount you drink creeps up … yeah not good. My doctor once told me Tylenol is the most dangerous med most people take and that it would never be approved by the FDA today.

Dr Nick’s hangover cure - drink no fewer than 5 drinks and take 4 Tylenol every night.

OP are you on a GLP or other semaglutide compound?
Anonymous
how old are you? I could drink a lot before 50. After 50 I have a sour belly and a crappy night sleep if I drink more than 2 drinks. I am tempted at functions but ALWAYS thankful afterwards if I don't drink or have 1/2 a glass of wine.

Sorry if this is you. There is nothing you can do but listen to your body.
