The biggest sinner is one in the white house and enabled by spineless snakes. But as my grandmother used to say, this too will pass. I think of it like a really painful kidney stone that eventually gets flushed away. |
Nobody made those idiots vote for Trump. Regardless of whatever irrational excuse they made, they chose him fully knowing what he is capable of. |
No, there was higher turnout in 2020 and 2008. And for many years pre-1968. |
This would have happened to the universities if the Dems had won as well. The party leaders are just as beholden to AIPAC as are Trump and Co. |
I don’t have time to wade through the pages of this thread but I do know that it was not pro Palestine protesters BUT pro-Israel protesters that came in the middle of the night and threw firecrackers inside the pro-Palestine encampment and then bloodied the heads of several pro-Palestinian protesters.
The police did not stop it. This whole story was the front page of the LA Times. Look it up! It’s still very recent news. Why on earth is UCLA being fined? This is infuriating. |
Too many facts. |
This campaign against universities is infuriating, and being a Californian, this latest move took my anger to an entirely new level. Admittedly, I am not a big fan of Gavin Newsom, and there are multiple things I don’t like about him, but he is never afraid to take on a fight. I think the Trump administration has met their match this time, and there is ZERO chance that California taxpayers and the UC system will roll over and accept a $1B fine. In fact, this is probably going to end up in court.
Below is a good news segment from the local LA news implying that UC will countersue, and I fully expect that to happen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBUBGvSen8E |
Trump wants to give $172 million of the Billion to Jewish Students.
Reparations for thee and not for me. Reparations for a religious group that is the richest in America. Also happen to be from where Trump’s biggest donors come from. Got it. |
UCLA will countersue and win.
Facts not on Trump's side. |
This may be the most disheartening part of the last couple of years. I genuinely don’t get how “Never Again” became “It’s okay to perpetrate genocide if we are the ones doing it in Gaza” and “we have no issue with being used as the excuse for bringing fascism to America”. In my mind— worse than MAGA because the Jewish people know exactly where this is leading. They just don’t care unless they are the victims. As hypocritical as the Christian right— maybe more so. |
I know there is a lot of pushback in woke enclaves but for the overwhelming majority of the country, there are almost no political downsides to punishing woke colleges for being woke. Every Republican president for the forseeable future is going to examine trump's policies and recognize that they can attack woke colleges and universities to bump their poll numbers. This will happen EVERY Republican administration to a lesser or greater extent. This is the new normal until the wokeness has been purged out of colleges the same way segregation was purged out of colleges. So no, this will not simply pass. Some of this is going to become a policy plank. Border security and immigration enforcement is also going to become a policy plank, one that even the Democrats are going to have to adopt. |
Yes, because YOU made him the more palatable option. |
A random anonymous poster made the Democrats so unpalatable that it led people to think that Trump was the better option? Fascinating! |
You're right, 2020 had higher turnout. But you have to go back more than a centurey to find another year that high. In any event the argument that trump's popular vote win doesn't count because so many people "did not vote" |
Genocide usually doesn't give the victims an opportunity to unconditionally surrender and sue for peace. That is called a war. |
