See, a BLS staffer had to be fired because too-high jobs estimates were revised down this month which was unfairly bad for the president and just last year too-high estimates were revised down which was unfairly good for the president. |
what are you blathering about. Every president in the modern time has been saddled with "saboteurs" - Obama had his tan suit and being a muslim or not being an American, or his wife's sleeveless dress; Biden had his son's addictions and some fake mistress thing and something about being creepy around kids; Clinton had all of whitewater (fabricated) black helicopters, vince foster, ron brown and then the actual one in Monica Lewinsky, which, in hindsight is rather quaint. Trump has actual issues and conflicts with Russia, China and Saudi Arabia and his policies have gifted all three countries. That isn't a coincidence. And if you think someone at the BLS is cooking the books, you have no idea how complex it is to gather data from the 50 states and hundreds of industries to compile these numbers. There are way too many non-partisan people involved to be able to do that. But now, Trump is going to corrupt this as well, and the results for the dollar, for the US economy, for US businesses and investors will be devastating. |
PP asked for a serious defense. Just because your party lies, and fakes data, and sabotages, don’t assume everyone else does it. Replacing everyone at BLS with Trump bootlickers isn’t going to change cold hard reality. People will know they’re being lied to when they can’t find a job. |
We might seriously be driving full speed into a great recession or worse, depression. They might cook the books for Americans but international financial systems will figure out if something is off and quietly act accordingly. |
That’s MAGA cult thinking at work. When the economy does well, Trump gets all the credit; when the economy falters, it must be those dastardly Democrat saboteurs. It’s all Obama’s fault, even though he left office 8 years ago! In 2099, when we’re all sitting around the campfire eating bugs, they’ll still be blaming Hillary. |
Sabotaging by telling the truth that the job market sucks? So he's going to bring in somebody to incessantly lie like he does? |
It isn’t one person doing these reports. There are teams of people who collect the data that goes to a team of economists and data scientists that interpret, analyze, and report the data. The idea that any one is undermining Trump is absolutely ludicrous. |
But a bad jobs number would make it more likely for Powell to lower rates, which Trump wants? |
Round 2 of Trump is the Rs fault. They should have impeached when they had the chance. |
Yes. But lowering rates in the face of tariffs would accelerate inflation. Trump's hare-brained policies lead directly to stagflation and leave the Fed with no good option. |
I’m also tired of seeing these posts blaming the Democrats for the mess the Republicans have created by tearing everything down. The blame shifting is unreal. Democrats are not the Republicans’ keepers. They could have run Mister Rogers or Jesus and they both would have lost, in an environment where 1) low information swing voters don’t pay attention to politics 2) right wing propaganda demonizing immigrants and cities gets relentlessly pumped out and amplified on social media 3) Gen Z men are mad because the left won’t help them get laid 4) voters are generally fed up with incumbents. If anyone is to blame, it’s the voters who decided incompetent, corrupt grievance mongers were just what the nation needed at this moment in time. Blame also goes to the Republican party, for harboring, coddling, and enabling them. |
It sounds like this individual was a devious democrat plant who was purposely manipulating the data. Good on Trump for firing her and replacing her with an unbiased observer! Just win after win for Trump lately. |
Sarcasm, I presume. |
“It sounds like…” = “Fox News told me” |
Soon the USA will be like those countries in Latin America and Eastern Europe where no one trusts the government data.
Just another step in downfall of a nation… |
