President Trump announced on Monday that he would nominate an economist, E.J. Antoni, to lead the Bureau of Labor Statistics, having dismissed the previous commissioner following the release of data that showed sluggish job creation over the past several months.

Mr. Antoni, who currently serves as chief economist at the right-leaning Heritage Foundation, would need to be confirmed by the Senate in order to assume the post.

If you’re not worried, you’re a fool. This Project 2025 Contributor will not publish the real punishing data that makes absolutely no sense. Why bother replacing the person who published the truth if that was the intent. It will be manipulated data and it won’t be until corporations and bond holders say enough and begin a pushback or a sell on American treasuries, bonds, etc. if you can’t trust the messenger, you cannot trust the message.

Likelihood the Heritage Foundation tool will get through the nomination process? I can’t imagine the BLS staff working under someone so blatantly political and who has openly criticized the economists at the agency.

100% he will get through and he does not need a staff. The 648 million budget of the BLS can be slashed. Maybe just enough money for a commissioner, personal staff and offices. So maybe a budget of 10 million.

The Republican Congress isn't taking its advise and consent role seriously anymore. Letting Hegseth and RFK Jr through was just the beginning. They're hardly going to raise a peep about a BLS role that most Americans have never heard of.

Antoni appeared on former White House strategist Steve Bannon’s podcast to discuss the BLS’ monthly jobs report, which showed much-lower-than-expected numbers for July and shockingly steep revisions for May and June.

Antoni called McEntarfer “incompetent” for failing to fix data collection and interpretation problems at the BLS that have led to major revisions in recent years. He agreed with Bannon on the solution: A MAGA Republican who “Trump knows and trusts” should be put into the position.

“We still haven’t gotten there,” Antoni said of a Trump loyalist running the BLS. “And I think that’s part of the reason why we continue to have all of these different data problems.”

Where did Antononi do his PhD? His bio doesn't mention the university at all and his bio is all random Texas right wing stuff and Heritage Foundation. Is his PhD some online degree?

No one is taking this administration or country seriously right now. Can you imagine trying to invest in the US if you aren’t directly involved in the Trump crime family?
