I am Indian too, and mature enough to understand that brides are free to wear what they like today. Welcome to the modern age, grandma. |
Talking of Middle Eastern, the Jordanian royal women all wear white at their weddings. And who died and made you boss of what a bride wears to her own wedding? |
I’ll answer the last two posts at once. Huma posted her wedding pictures in Vogue and we are in the fashion thread. If you don’t want to read opinions on a discussion forum, maybe this isn’t the place for you. |
I think the wedding dress is really lovely, and I like Anna’s floral dress as well.
Both women could stand to gain a few pounds. |
You should take your own advice. We don’t have to just sit and listen to your opinions. You can hear mine too. ![]() |
I guess whatever a bride feels confident and happy in, is her best choice. No matter if its demure elegance for Huma Soros or screaming sexuality for Lauren Bezos or glamour galore for JLo. |
Have you been to a south asian wedding recently? A lot of brides are wearing white now. |
I have - no one is wearing a dress that looks like Huma’s. C’mon. |
Feel free to post your own opinion on Huma’s wedding! You forgot to do that in the middle of your insults! |
The dress is lovely, and the addition of meaningful details enhances its beauty. She appears both happy and beautiful. Congrats to the happy couple. |
I clicked and was delighted by Huma’s wedding gown. So elegant and subtle. |
Okay then, what color? Given the color palette of the wedding, what would you put her in? Because when you start considering your options, you quickly realize they're all pretty shite. Pale pink? She's 50, not a little girl. Light green? with her complexion, really? Deep blue? WAY too businesslike. Vampy red like the pic linked upthread (which is phenomenal on her)? Wildly inappropriate for a wedding of this type/location (however traditional it may be elsewhere). A yellow? It would have to be buttery to go with the gardenish theme, and again, not the easiest on her complexion. Something printed/floral?? She wore a traditional dress for a traditional event. While she's made more bold choices for other events, nothing she's pictured in on this thread is particularly groundbreaking or convention-defying, which says that she has a pretty traditional USian sense of style. That you're surprised by her wedding choices is probably more about you than her. But please do give some examples of how you would've made changes. I'm legitimately curious. |
“Raul knows how to make the special elements shine. I wanted my father with me as I walked down the aisle. This was his locket which has been stored in a box for 32 years. Folded inside is a special prayer for health and happiness.” I think it would be really sad if Huma really had someone else write the above on her behalf. |
DP. Are you the poster who was constantly dictating what Usha Vance "should" wear, simply because she's of South Asian heritage? Stay in your lane. No one has to take orders from you. |
I love this! So many people that supported her. |
