They do support some important voting rights litigation without which it would be increasingly difficult to win in some states. They are often the lead pocketbook on a lot of those cases.
I’m not sure how much they do as far as crafting candidate messages. I don’t think they play much role there.

They should. Someone needs to organize the Dems on messaging. Punchy, short, to-the-point messaging. The Republicans all repeat theirs. Dems on the other hand are all over the map with no consistent or coherent messaging. Anyone who knows anyone at all in Dem politics should be listening to me on this. It's one of their BIGGEST liabilities right now. Republicans eat their lunch on messaging.

Genuinely curious what messaging you would suggest.

For starters:
We stand strong against illegal immigration.
We stand strong against crime and believe in prison time for violent crimes.
We stand strong for all children and will do what's needed to ensure they receive the education and support they need in well run schools with teachers who are dedicated to their profession.

Democrats can SAY that all they want but their actions are in direct conflict with that message.

How? Dems wanted an immigration bill and Trump stopped it. Also, Obama deported more people than any other president. Please humor me with Dems who support violent criminals. Don't bring up Defund the police b/c VERY FEW cities actually did that. Unfortunately, we were bad at getting that message out. We believe in education. Charter schools and vouchers are not going to be better for education. It will just cost a lot more. Closing the Dept of Ed is going to end badly. We have a Secretary who thinks AI is A1. Please.

From the middle of looked like Democrats wanted to take away a campaign issue with the immigration bill. Sure, Trump put politics before country but that's what Trump does

Democrats are associated with the BLM riots, most riots really.

Charter programs in Blue jurisdictions tend to be a lot better than charter programs in red jurisdictions. Ironic really

The Dept of education shouldn't be closed but it should no longer be a hub for nationalizing wokeness

Not that there is any really good Republican alternative, but education is the single biggest issue I would vote against Dems on if I could.

They put pretty much every other consideration ahead of actual education when it comes to the education system

Education is a tool they use to indoctrinate and bring about progressive social change..

But not in reality. Let me correct you.

Dems wanted an immigration bill to codify their bad behavior in to law. Good for the DNC. Not good for the country.
I don't care about deportation numbers. If you don't allow illegal aliens in to begin with, then your deportation numbers are going to be lower. DUH.
There were a host of prosecutors who were soft on crime that were appointed by democrats.
If charter schools aren't going to be better than public education, then why is everyone clamoring to get their offspring out of public school and in to charter schools? You're standing on the sidelines telling people not to believe what they see!
The Department of Education is a bureaucracy that can't get out of its way and does precious little to improve education. It just throws out grants and money everywhere. Money doesn't fix everything.

It's not the broadcast of your message that sucks. It's your actual message (policy) that sucks.

The Republicans helped draft the immigration bill so clearly they believed in it b/c Trump told them not to vote for it so it's wasn't the dems' bad behavior.

I believe in Charter schools, but the numbers don't pan out. The scores are no better. What's different is that for parents who choose charter schools, the schools have more flexibility in how they spend their money and structure their days. My kids went to public, charter and private school. Also, charters are public funds so there is accountability. There is no accountability for vouchers and in most states, rich parents can get them. The other problem with charters and vouchers are that they are not available everywhere, especially in rural areas.

Money doesn't fix things, but as bad as the schools are in red states, they will be even worse.

FYI - I know a lot about charters because of a prior job.

Charter schools work better in blue are than in red areas. In blue area it's l about self selection of students into charters. In red are it's about sneaking a bit of Jesus and "free market" into education.

We stand strong against illegal immigration.
-simple look at immigration numbers year over year says otherwise

We stand strong against crime and believe in prison time for violent crimes.
-how about non-violent crimes? So the guy who broke into my car to steal my property gets off free?

We stand strong for all children and will do what's needed to ensure they receive the education and support they need in well run schools with teachers who are dedicated to their profession.
-is that why you are trying to cut my 8th grade kids advanced algebra class.

These are horrible messages because swing voters (I am one) know they aren’t true.

Dems best play is to focus on abortion and Trumps combative personality.

No, it's not. Dems need to appeal to the middle and independents. Abortion is now a state issue and Trump's personality has been obvious for years.

Kitchen table issues. Fiscal responsibility. Reasonable compromise with Republicans. Bill Clinton was highly successful with these things. Unfortunately, Dems don't have anyone like him right now, and even if they did, the progressive wing wouldn't want that person.

Dems seem to want a fighter, but that is exactly the wrong personality against someone like Trump. A calm, rational candidate (but still interesting to voters) is needed.

Career politicians aren't the answer. This might explain why there are puff pieces about Mark Cuban in the news recently.

I like Butigieg but people say he's too gay. That seems like a silly reason to disqualify someone.

I have zero problems with Jesus (or any other religion) in education. The pandemic forever changed the way I see it, when Catholic schools opened while public schools remained closed. Anyone with a mission and ability to educate kids should be eligible for funding IMO.

private school opened. You want all education to be privatized like some (developing) countries, go for it. Cut education and give all that tax money back to the tax payers (so we'll have super low property taxes - yay!). Then go find your kid a school on the provide market. What will happen when your neighbors can't afford a school? Some places in india, volunteers will lead a neighborhood "school" a couple of hours a week. Often led by 16 year old girls or missionaries. Most kids do learn to read and do basic adding and subtracting.

Want to go one step better? How about no public school and every family gets a voucher worth current per pupal allotment and their miniscule portion of facility fees. maybe 15,000 per kid? Have fun finding a private school.

Just months into the tenure of a new party leader, Ken Martin, the Democratic National Committee’s financial situation has grown so bleak that top officials have discussed whether they might need to borrow money this year to keep paying the bills.

Fund-raising from major donors — some of whom Mr. Martin has still not spoken with — has slowed sharply. At the same time, he has expanded the party’s financial commitments to every state, and even to far-flung territories like Guam.

Fellow Democrats are grumbling that Mr. Martin, who quietly accepted a raise after taking the post, has been badly distracted by internal battles. So far, they say, he has been unable to help unite his party against Republicans, who control the federal government.

Didn’t the DNC raise a billion dollars for Kamala? Why is this happening?

Don’t bother giving to the DNC. Even if they get a $1 Billion they would not know how to spend it. Look what happened to the huge PACS for Cuomo

The wealthy elites who financially back our two major parties are getting a return on their investment regardless of wins in a specific race. If they weren't getting a return, the billions of dollars wouldn't keep flowing in.

No not really. People are upset about Democrats at all levels. Local dog catcher, school board, etc. IMO it is due to the leadership, but they have marched themselves into a corner they can't get out of. They would have to do a 180 degree on immigration, but with all the sanctuary cities and what not they have too much bureaucratic inertia.

Excellent point. The problems the Democrats face is one of their own making. They did a terrific job of top down messaging. Everyone at every level from school boards to local politicians to state level offices almost every democratic office holder has adopted the progressive platform. Now they can’t change the tune and move back to the center. They are paddling ever faster down stream and headed straight for the falls.

So you're saying democrats did not consider....

It’s telling how all those could also be applied to backing into a parking space - which is something that seems to draw massive condemnation from posters here.

NP. I completely agree. I have completely changed my positions on education after the pandemic. I’m now very pro-charter and very opposed to anything supported by teachers unions. And I used to be a straight Apple Ballot voter. Now I vote for candidates not endorsed by the Apple Ballot.

On another note - it is unsurprising that the DNC is having trouble raising money given some of the horrendous candidates that they are pushing for office.

The DNC has a terrible brand and nothing to offer Americans right now. It needs to be revamped before they start begging for money again.
