| Just because a lot of in-state don’t go, doesn’t diminish them IMO. If they were same cost, plenty would happily switch for a mid-size, smaller classes, more personalized attention. |
Not at our private, according to Naviance. Wake goes down to 3.5-3.6uw GPA generally. Davidson is 3.78-3.82 Duke is 3.9+ |
Really? Today? SMU has done a whole rebranding recently. I think of SMU and Tulane synonymously, especially in terms of the full-pay kids it attracts this year. |
I'd consider Wake, Miami, and possibly Tulane as more prestigious than USC. To be fair it probably depends on what region of the country this question's asked in. |
I guess Davidson just likes our private better, routinely takes kids ranked 20 to 40 percent and has for years. Seen as a target for most kids. The top twenty percent goes to Ivies and Ivy plus or NESAC. Davidson not on the radar for those kids, more a peer of W and L. |
Could be. Think Davidson is for kids at ours who are around the 25% or so. Peer to an Emory or so for us. We get a lot into both in RD. |
| ^^^ Wake is a much easier admit generally. Especially for boys. |
I’m sure you know what you are talking about. |
I’m sure you never miss autocorrect errors. |
Ok, children. Both of you put the keyboard down and go take a walk or something. |
Elon is a great school and ranks very highly in lots of categories. It’s not the Elon of 1990. |
| Grew up in NC. Wake is equal to Duke and above UNC. By a mile. |
None of them were rejected from Vandy! Wake kids would not even consider Vandy. |
| Wake is the Bucknell of North Carolina. |
|
I grew up in NC and UNC and Wake were considered peer schools, along with NC State. Maybe UNC a little higher and NC State was viewed a little lowered than Wake but not much.
Duke possibly was considered a peer school to UNC but not really. I wouldn’t have called it a peer school to Wake. Wake has a great reputation in NC though. It's highly respected. |
