I don't care if we regulate food dyes because it would not substantially improve our overall health. I already avoid foods with food dyes quite easily. PFAs on the other hand, I cannot avoid, cannot prevent my kids from ingesting. Neither can you. |
The MAHA movement has cognitive dissonance on its approach to food regulation vs environmental contaminant regulation at the EPA. ln the end, the environmental piece matters far more because one can control buying whole foods but not remove exposure to environmental contaminants in the water you drink or the food you consume no matter how rural you live or wholesome you eat. |
Spon on. Thank you. |
Not really. At the EPA, republicans are still enacting deregulation that will poison us all in ways we can not avoid, even those MAHA trad wives living on farms in rural areas. Democrats still stand for regulation that promotes cleaner drinking water and avoiding truly dangerous chemicals. But sure, ban food dyes, have at it. We still have PFAs causing cancer, fertility and thyroid issues, and more. And we will still have a poor healthcare system in the end, an obesity epidemic, and more. What is the current administration's overall plan for our healthcare system? Is it still just "concepts of a plan?" |
Nope, not spot on. The MAHA approach to healthcare is endlessly talking about this tiny speck of dust in the corner while ignoring the giant pile of sh*t taking up the entire room. Sure, ban dyes. They are that speck of dust and we can all agree dust is not great. But the current administration still absolutely sucks in "following the science" in their overall approach to healthcare. In fact, they still literally have no viable plan to improve healthcare for regular American citizens other than talking about that speck of dust. |
One other difference is that Democrats spend time on sites like this, which censors any discussion of corporate revenues from vaccines. Lol. They want you thinking of vaccines as a science/philanthropy situation, whereas MAHA understands that the vaccine business is a for-profit business. Liberal crunchies get their info from the pharma-affiliated establishment, so there’s a lot they just aren’t aware of. |
If you think Democrats get out vaccine info from DCUM, that is really funny. I don't know where my MAGA family gets their vaccine info but frequently state complete lies like "it changes your DNA" or "Covid vaccines were not tested in animals" or "no existing vaccines were ever tested against placebo" and also do not know how to use a research search database nor have ever had to read nor critique a scientific research article. |
They probably get their info the same place Kamala I'm-not-taking-it-if-Trump-develops-it Harris does. |
You're wrong about this. MAHA had never been blasé about PFAs. Trump didn’t run on deregulation of PFAs, he just did it after he got there. It's one thing to say that Trump has cognitive dissonance on the issue but quite a different thing to say that MAHA does. Right now, one side will regulate food additives and the other will (ineffectively) regulate PFAs. I'm not sure why you're trying to box people out when they are in violent agreement with you. |
Well great. If you have Republican representatives, I hope you are vehemently bothering them about Trump's cognitive dissonance on this particular topic. |
Actually not what she said. |
+1 |
The only proof you need that “MAHA” is a figment of imagination used to sucker people for their votes in Nov 2024:

I am originally from Takoma Park too. Your very obvious problem is your belief that one political party owns caring about health. There's no health party. I am not rooting for any party to win or own advancing health. I just want to be healthier, and I don't care who accomplishes it. When you start caring more about results, and less about political banter, you will be healthier (mentally) too. |
Eat more raw garlic, ginger, and tumeric. Done. All the science we need. |
