I’ve traveled extensively and have never publicly opined on or sought to influence the internal affairs of another country.

As for foreigner visitors, I’m a fan. However, I’m also not naive enough to believe that all are here for salubrious purposes. In fact, I’ve experienced attempts at corporate and academic “espionage” (probably too grand a word, but it captures the idea), as well as interacted with paid propagandists of foreign authoritarian regimes operating in the US.

Not everyone is here to take a picture at the Statue of Liberty and our government should have the power to address that fact.

Government cannot “prohibit” or “abridge” free speech. Period. Trump is counting on the stupidity of the American people and it seems like the people are really going to give it to him.

They are free to say anything they want.

And the US government is allowed to revoke their visa if that speech is seen as a violation of their visa’s rules.

I get it. Foreign nationals have been allowed into this country and permitted to run wild forgetting they are guests here.

But that is coming to an end. Respect your host country, don’t break any laws, if you don’t agree with the government leave and protest it in your native country. It is very simple.

Once again, guests to this country are covered by the same First Amendment rights to free speech as US citizens. Let's review, shall we:

Non-citizens in the U.S., including undocumented immigrants, are protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution. This includes the rights to:

Free speech
Freedom of religion
Freedom of the press
Peaceful assembly
Petitioning the government

The U.S. Supreme Court has consistently held that these rights apply to "all persons" on U.S. soil—not just citizens—regardless of immigration status.

Can we give them guns too? Because I can't see anything wrong with arming the enemies of the US.

We're talking about the First Amendment, not the Second Amendment--keep up. Plus people from other countries are usually not as gun crazy as Americans.

Sone visitors absolutely are our enemies and are seeking and/or willing to damage our interests. Others are merely interested in advancing their own interests and agendas at our expense.

Meddling in the internal domestic politics of another country as a visitor is wildly inappropriate.

I agree. Where do we stand on removing AIPAC, Betar and Canary Mission from the U.S. political landscape? Also, when are we codifying the law that criminalizes members of the U.S. Congress from propaganda tours of foreign nations?

PP here. In favor of removing all foreign nationals meddling in our affairs. Quite a few Russians and others we can add as well.
