Hahaha you know nothing... 1. Good coaches are harder to find then top players 2. Coaches running privates on the side over time translates into more players joining the club. More players means more money for the club owners |
Please. I know TM’s that spill the tea. |
Our TM is nosey and wants to know everyone's business. She LOVES being the TM and loves having first hand access to the coach. Her son also plays every game and plays the whole game. |
| So, no one can name a coach or team that does this. After numerous call outs. Case is closed. I get it, we all have questions about who starts and who plays the whole game. The coaches clearly have favorites. But, I suggest the coach is right and sees something you don’t, or it is a coach that is bad at evaluating talent. Plenty to go around on both sides. I don’t see why this needs to go to parents paying coaches. Unless someone can actually name a coach/place where this has happened. I thought not… |
Just wait, if you don't see it now great. But eventually you're going to run into it. The way it works is the higher competition level the easier it becomes for coaches to take some cash om the side. The is because the best teams have parents and players reaching out to play for that team all the time. This puts the coach in a situation where for most positions there's 5-6 players they could roster for each role. How do they decide which player makes the team? This is where the corruption starts. Maybe one of those players is doing private sessions with the coach. Maybe the parents donated a round of golf at an amazing private club. Maybe one of the parents has a private jet and likes to fly coaches to remote games. Or maybe one of the patents bluntly said " it's worth 10k cash for my kid to play on this team". See how it works? And this is just the start. Once parents figure out a coach is coin operated things like talent id's, minutes, positions, etc are all for sale. As long as the team keeps winning. |
Sounds like you are sweating, coach. |
sounds like my daughter’s old tm. RESIST and move quietly lol. Swat noses if necessary |
| I’ll spill the tea—Alexandria is all about collecting 'donations.' It pretty much guarantees you a playing spot and a top spot on the coach’s pet list. |
Oh yeah the pressure they send to families for donation is unreal. |
|
Any club that has a chairty auction & Or allows coaches to private train kids on the roster is in the hard core pay to play biz.
FACT. |
| I would agree with this point. And this is not happening at the clubs we have been at (high level). Maybe it is at other clubs, and if it is, you should call it out and run from it. Because this is not the norm, nor is it acceptable. |
Leave it alone. No one here gets the full insight on the assessments. Lots of conjecture
|
Our TM thinks he’s a coach and gives his 2 cents constantly. He also has a thing against my kid- doesn’t think he should start/play as much as he does—always commenting on the sidelines. Putting a worm in the coach’s ear. Many of them are busy body dads. I think it’s more likely they are than not. And, yes, as a new parent I once took the job when nobody else would and it’s fairly thankless- but I never interceded or talked shop with the coach. |
You can believe that if it makes you feel better, but truly this isn't happening far and wide. |
We've been with Alexandria for years. I have never felt "pressure" to donate to the club. Their payment platform does make it easy, and they've always got an option at registration, for sure. They also send out lots of club wide emails about events and donations. But never have I had the impression playing time or a spot on a team was dependent on it. Maybe I'm missing something. Keep in mind, also, that this is a multi-million dollar non-profit that runs rec leagues, futsal leagues, offers scholarships, maintains fields, etc. It's not just your kid's team. You should expect them to try to raise money. |
